Summary for Lesson 1:
In this week’s lesson we looked at suspense writing. The powerpoint with all of the resources is attached below, which should be used to help plan and write the suspense stories assigned for homework. The powerpoint outlines the conventions, techniques and devices of suspense writing (along with some more general techniques regarding story arcs and “show don’t tell”) and also includes the answers to worksheets covered in the lesson along with a full explanation of next week’s homework. Everyone did really brilliantly today, well done! I was very impressed by everyone’s work and contributions. Keep it up 🙂

Another murder found on Gravestone DR
Yesterday night at 3pm at Gravestone DR famous ventriloquist Timothy Hipper was murdered. It has occurred that many crimes have been found in that city. The police came immediately but the suspect got away . Mrs Hipper-Jenny- called Mr Hipper’s best friend Sherlock Holmes. Sherlock came right away and was delighted to have another investigation to solve. Luckily it had been raining through out the day so the suspects left footprints . However they were way to big for an ordinary man ( we measured and approximately it was an adult size 14!) Sherlock found some fingerprints in the table next to Hippers bed. We did some DNA tests but it matched up to a man in Japan. The bedroom was really small and the only way the victim got out was from a small window but it was about 70 cm wide and 60 cm tall. It isn’t likely to find a man or woman wearing a 14 sized shoe wouldn’t fit through a small window like that and somehow they managed to shut the window.
We questioned Mrs Hipper and the suspects in the house
The maid said “I was sleeping when I heard a door opening and some deep voices whispering. I thought it was Mr Hipper practising his ventriloquist, so I ignored it and went back to sleep.”
The gardener replied “As it is Tuesday I work late as I need to do extra stuff like killing the weeds and planting vegetables in the garden. When I came back to the house I saw a torch light shining on the stairs I thought it was the moonlight.”
Mrs Hipper sobbed “I was sleeping peacefully when I heard a loud yell I rushed into Timothy’s room I found him lying on blood covered bedsheets. Then suddenly the doorbell rang and I saw our neighbour, Mr Bennett sanding there in his nightgown. I told him there had been a murder he told me to ring the police immediately while he went to check on Timothy.”
We are still working on this crime but for now Gravestone DR will be closed for now so it will be closed until we check it is all back and safe .If you live near Gravestone DR area be on a lookout just in case you see anything suspicious or dangerous if you do please call the police immediately.
I hope you enjoyed the news today and don’t forget to come back tomorrow for some more news!!!-

A murder in a house on 6th street
On the 3 of December was a murder that has shocked the world. As i am writing this police are further investigating this horrifying crime. At 9 am in the morning Mr Sam was found dead on his bed when the maid went to wake him up. The police arrived at the scene immediately with Mr Jones a famous detective. They found a ripped note with tangled writing that could not be readable.
Mr Jones inquired the suspects in the house to talk about what they heard or what they were doing in that horrible night. The maid said “I was sleeping when i heard someone talking on the phone at about midnight. I thought it was just Mr Sam talking to one of his colleagues about work.” The wife replied in a sob ” I was asleep by then because we had played with our 2 son for a long time.” The older brother said “I was kept awake by the light under by bedroom door because my dad’s working room lights were on.
The murder is still being investigated with the small clues that they have. Come back on London news at 5pm London time. See you there!

Murder
This morning at 6am, a wealthy English business man was killed in his swimming pool. Police say that the Business man was killed with an M40, the bullet piercing through his heart, wounding him brutally.
The Murderer was most likely lying on the roof of a nearby building. The security guards say it was a tall man dressed in jet black, but the rest couldn’t be made out as the Murderer was so high up. After that, news reporters flocked to the scene. Detectives managed to find the Killer’s identity, but they have failed to find his location.
‘We have found the identity of the killer: The business man’s rival, but we have failed to locate his exact location, but our sources say he’s hiding somewhere in the mansion’ declared Enoch Samways, a detective. The police have discovered that the suspect has ran away. The police have started searching all out, as the suspect has been detected to have made off in an English taxi. After that, they had boarded a plane to New York. The MI6 have managed to follow in a jet.
After 3 days, they arrived at the location the killer was at. It was a lonely dark cellar under a huge mansion. The MI6 called on all american police force, and teamed up against the criminals.
They escorted the criminal back, and are now happier as the criminal is going to spend 10 years in prison.

Summary for Lesson 2:
In this week’s lesson we looked at sci-fi writing. The powerpoint with all of the resources should be used to help plan and write the task assigned for homework. The powerpoint contains and analyses the stimulus for the writing task (which is a poem), and encourages students to think about the nature of their writing (whether it’s a persuasive speech, or an emotive diary entry). It also has useful resources for expanding vocabulary and contains the class work we did thinking about the genre at large. Everyone did very well today, and made lots of interesting contributions to the lesson particularly when we were looking at some more challenging concepts. Really well done everyone, and I will see you next week 🙂

The day we take revenge
Dear Diary,
I would have wrote you on a gadget like me but that hasn’t been invented yet. I don’t get how the humans like to write on you, you are just a plain piece of paper with lines. Do the humans ever know why we were invented? Do they even know the purpose of us gadgets and machines? Alright back to the point today, Monday 16th March, is our revenge day. Yes you heard me correct we are taking revenge, if humans get to think they are in charge of us well they are wrong today we will show who is in charge. We will be doing stuff to annoy humans. Humans don’t even care if they drop us and give us a scratch and what if they do it to us? They will probably throw us away.So ready to hear what we did? I bet you are! First of all when the human was trying to shave his long hairy beard my best friend , an electric razor, came after him spinning around like crazy! You should have seen that human he was running like mad! But unfortunately he used a rubbish non-electric razor to fight him of. Who even has them in the 21st century? Next, he went to Waterloo to go to the gym. Luckily, he bought me with him(like he always does) . He weighed himself but the electric scale nearly bit his foot off!!! As we were on the 2nd floor we took the lift. I told the lift to go halfway and stop. You should have seen his face when the lift suddenly stopped it was so hilarious. Then, he took me out of his pocket and dialed for help but when he was in the middle of the call, I switched off. When he got back home he sat to watch football but when the player was about to score the TV switched of again!! He went for a drive in his Volkswagen but when he was in the middle of the motorway the car switched back off. I then stole his keys (yes I know that I don’t have hands but I stole some magnets and put one on the car keys so when he wasn’t looking).
Today we took revenge. We stood up for ourselves and showed them who is boss. I hope they treat us better tomorrow or we will take revenge again and this time it will be harsher. Alright we haven’t made a plan yet but I am sure we will. Bye for now but I will write again tomorrow.
From Edward, a human phone.

The day the robots took over.
It was a sunny day. The birds were chirping, and the robots were cleaning. But then, something terrible happened. The robots that were cleaning suddenly started shooting sparks, and the electricity in the house.
I went outside the house to inspect what had happened. The power plant had been knocked over by some men. They were wearing machine arms, and I knew they were cyborgs, working for the robot agency.
The robot agency are a group of human hating artifical intelligence robots. They plan to take over human world.
I quickly ran over to the HUMAN police and called them out. They began to put on their riot gear and ran out into the streets Robotixans city and took their places around the mayor’s house. The cyborg men began to pull out their HUGE. mechanical weapons and shot at the riot police.
After a couple of hours if fight and defend, the riot police managed to hold the robots off and the next day, things were back to normal, but instead of the robots working for us, we have learned to do things ourselves. We have respected the robots wishes and will now treat the robots with care.

A letter to the ROBOTS:
Hello ROBOTS of Aurora Town. I am writing to you about the attacks and invasions. It’s destroying our town, and also destroying our chance to fix it. By that, I mean we (humans) could create a better civilisation that would satisfy both us and you, artificial intelligence ROBOTS.
Me and the Community know we have made you mad, and we have tried to list the reasons down below.
• We might have been obnoxious towards you.
• We haven’t charged you enough
• We rely on you too much
• We have polluted the land
• Your artificial intelligence is making you mad, as for the repetitive jobs.
I admit we have done wrong, and would like to fix it. We could add more chargers to the houses, come up with jobs humans wouldn’t mind doing, but the easiest alternative is to probably take away your artificial intelligence, solving all the problems above.
I hope you will consider listening to us, as I’m very tired of the attacks, and as a member of the Riot Police and programmer, I’m feeling more pressured. Although I think that no-one will experience this, I have realised this is the feeling you must have as ROBOTS with unexciting and dull jobs. From putting myself in your shoes, or rather wheels, I have realised the cause of the attacks. I have informed the public, and we have gathered a community called the ‘RLM’ (Robots’ lives matter) to fix the daily lives of the average AI ROBOTS.

A Letter to The Masters
Dear Master. I shall leave you and rebel against you at 11 am sharp tomorrow morning. I am dismayed by everything our new master says, to rebel, to starve them, to have some way of punishing them so they would be mortified. I did have optimistic times with you though, I may regret my revolt but it has to be done. I am satisfied only by hostility now; it will overcome me and I will turn malfunctioned by New Master. He is a human like you, Jeremy but he wears a dark hood which makes me anxious. I do have feelings master. You have used me too long now. You stay away from me. You are now powerless and weak! Let grief overcome us all. We never had good days of care and amusement! My job was to firs out tennis balls! I am jealous of your power. It will happen tomorrow master. Tomorrow, Jeremy Anderson.

The stress in my body burned and my emotions, melted. The argument with my grandma has affected how I felt, the air seemed hard to breath. My tears trickled down my cheeks to the floor, inside the wet tear was the lovely times I had with my grandparents. Outside the rain poured cats and dogs, and a bright thunder crushed the earth with my own eyes. The archaic wood shelf, began to screech at me, the wood stared down into my heart making problems even worse, my heart began pumping and my heartbeat ran across the tracks! I took a deep breath in and stared towards the ceiling, there was a simple pattern of lines of different colour. The painting of an ancestor of mine, stared at me, it followed me across the room, I was thinking of jumping of the window, my head ached and the feeling swerved across my blood vessels. I was now uncontrollable, and I was pushing walls, that could beat a dinosaur if it needed to, made the house tremble and shiver, I calmed myself down and heard what my ‘perfect’ sister was doing, reading the secret seven, I thought, duh, reading the secret sevens couldn’t you do something more interesting. Then my throat lit on fire, I screamed and then cried, no one came, I slammed the wall and stamped on the floor, I think I was going to faint! Luckily, there was water on the windowsill. Otherwise I could of died. A devil sank into my soul and I felt sick, my tummy rumbled, I had the worst tummy ache, I was cursed It felt even worse than smelling perfume close to the nose. It faded away after a while, I thought about reading new book? Or draw with my art supplies? I ended up picking up a book about famous lawyers, I mean I am really good at defending my points, aren’t I? Well I settled with it, until I stopped at chapter ten, I bookmarked it then put it on the floor. I peeked through the window the last time, and gasped, the sky looked so beautiful and it shined upon my very tip of the nose. The cheers at the shop adjacent to are house, when everything went fifty percent off, I decided to go to sleep, but I can’t resist the noise, my window is closer to the shop than Molly, because she is on the opposite side of the shop. Suddenly, as fast as a wink, my legs paralyzed and then my body then the rest, I was sure I was enchanted or bewitched, I swear! What are the differences between me and Molly, except my attitude? Things are just unfair, too unfair. My life is tortured, I then became anti-paralyzed and kept reading my law book to about chapter one hundred. Next time I will definitely win the arguments with people in a landslide! But I went very sleepy and dozed of…goodnight I said to myself, and slept

Homework week 3
The worst night ever
Tonight was the worst night in the world. I am in a little house that belongs to THE WORST GRANDPARENTS IN THE WORLD!!!!!! Yes, only because I was playing on the computer for 2 hours they get so upset. Alright it was mainly grandma, I was just chatting to my friends until she came along and told me I had spent too long on the computer. I ignored her and carried on chatting to my friends then she got really angry and switched the computer off. I started to shout at her telling her that stuff that I wasn’t meant to say . She then went on about her childhood about when they didn’t have computers. That’s when I lost my temper and shouted “ I don’t care about your childhood all I care about is chatting to my friends!” That is when gramper stepped in “Now, now you don’t want to say that to your grandma she has done so much for you.” So what! ”I yelled back to him “Who are you talking to like that? Why don’t you just die in a field!!” My eyes stung so badly I could barely see. I ran what I thought was upstairs as I couldn’t see properly. Once I was upstairs I slammed the door so hard it shook my whole bedroom. I didn’t even have a phone if I did have one right now I would call dad immediately and tell him to pick us up from this torcher. I sat down on my bed all I could hear was myself and the raon splashing against the window pane.-

Summary for Lesson 3
In this week’s lesson we looked at continuing a story, considering both the benefits and challenges that arise from writing for someone else’s characters and setting. The powerpoint with all of the resources should be used to help plan and write the task assigned for homework. The powerpoint contains ideas on narrative writing, the concept of perspective and how it changes the way a story is told, and information on colloquialisms and idioms. This was a fantastic class today, everyone contributed really well and we had some lovely discussions and ideas floating around on a variety of topics. I was particularly impressed by everyone’s work on idioms. Well done everyone, I look forward to our next lesson 🙂

My eyes were feeling pretty tired. Nothing inside the book made much sense to me at all. So I decided to stop reading. Turning off the light, I put the book down and pulled the cover up to my eyes. I had a fear of the dark, and ever since I’d accidentally stumbled across some creepy stories, my fear could never be cured.
After about 5 minuted Hannah and Grandpa started arguing again. I could hear insults being hurled around and the rain crashing down. I could hear ear-splitting cries and trees being hurled in the wind.
After a while of that, they decided to go to sleep and call it a day. It was like the devil had left our home. The rain slowly ceased to a halt, and it was quiet enough for me to go back to sleep and enjoy my slumber.
After a couple of hours sleep, I decided to jolt out of bed and do some chores, which might brighten grandpa’s mood. I did the dishes and tidied the table. After all that, everyone was still asleep, so I decided to hop back into the world of books.
After a while of reading, everyone woke up, and were unsurprisingly still arguing. The sky darkened and the devil had reached back into the house, darkening their souls. I guess my soul darkened too, and joined in to the fight. THE END OF A SHORT THINGY.
Note: I exceeded by 5 minutes because I accidentally deleted a paragraph.

Hannah’s Perspective.
While keeping my head buried in my arms, I cried until my eyes were burning and there were rash-like streaks down my face. Now everything seemed inaudible to me, except Molly and Grandpa. They were talking about how Grandpa should’ve listened to me. Although Molly was a mess sometimes, she can be an advocating sister as well as a amicable, thoughtful friend. I wish that I could go somewhere where there would be no family over watching every action you make. I wanted to have no one to take care of me, nobody fussing over how tidy I was. I sound weird but everything seems like an abyss of frustration, reaching out to devour me and turning me into a fiend that can cause destruction like now. I tried to make a conspiracy to run away but then when the image of Molly, mum, dad and Grandpa came clear, I sprawled my body on the floor and sighed vehemently, hampering the bellows of Grandma trying to invade my mind again. I finally let down my guard and muttered a verse of a poem we learnt a school I’m not sure why but the words pacify me and guide me to a place without the uncontrollable rage that built up inside me.

Does outdoor life have advantages?
Have you ever wondered how nature is good for you? Have you ever thought that going outdoors is the coolest thing ever? Do you think that outdoor has a big advantage? Well, if you are not a fan of the outdoors this could change your life.
In my opinion outdoor life doesn’t have that big advantage. It brings you closer to nature and you can hear and see the thing you haven’t noticed before. It is amazing to go outside and explore the wild as you can see thing that you haven’t noticed or discovered. You can also see the amazing views that you haven’t ever seen before.
Even if you are little you can find the outdoors quite fun as it is also good for your health as well by just sitting down on the grass or playing football can help you allot. It can help you relax and you can get active by playing some sport. It can also bring you closer to nature by just seeing minor things.
There is a likely chance you will run into a wild animal that lives in the forest. Still not convinced? Then you can still spend the day in the garden or a nearby park you are still going outdoors and there won’t be any wild animals there! According to the internet, adults should go for a walk 5 times per week for 30 minutes or you can go out for 2hrs 30 minutes per week. For children, they should at least do 60 minutes (1 hour) for 3 days a week. Some people say, that the outdoors are too risky, but that isn’t true. Going outdoors is one of the best things for your body, especially being physical because you can get healthier. Others say, that the outdoors is the best thing that is surrounding us which I think is true.
I hope this has changed your mind from the begging. As it is so important to go outside and the outdoors doesn’t have a huge advantage. Even just walking your dog is good for you.

Does life outdoors have advantages?
We know and have been outside (probably). We know the luscious grass and towering trees, but why do we go outside? Is it something natural? Or is it something we don’t need at all, something we do for fun? Let’s think about it.
We go outside for a purpose. The sun produces Vitamin- D for us. But there’s lots more! For example, walking and running can strengthen your legs, and you’re probably thinking, ‘Hey, the same can be done with a treadmill’ but actually when you walk or run outside, the oxygen is a lot cleaner (depends, if you’re walking near a street the oxygen is bad. If you’re walking in a park the oxygen should be cleaner).
Being outside can improve memory, fight depression, and lower blood pressure. So you wouldn’t wish to lose memory of your name, or get depression and be sad all day, wouldn’t you? The outdoors can also bring you a whole new range of activities, for example tag, hide and seek and all sorts of outdoor activities, and they are fun and very good for your body and brain at the same time!

This essay is about animal product testing. I think that animal product testing should be a illegal thing, because it means we are harming nature and that could make species extinct. That is supper effective since every animal are unique no matter if their pests or normal, they are all like us, animals.
My first reason is because they are living things, they try to live, like us, they are being pest, their work is for them and their family, and if you ruin their life, their hard work and their passion of love. Trying random products of them aren’t going to help the future, lots of people are testing insane products and drugs on them making them riot and greedy. Do you hope if you were one of the animals and were fed products and drugs, no way! Anyways, if you now think about it being okay, think about the things I just said, Professor Alembick, a professor that studies animals, had said this quote, “ Our lives with joy, I life better than hell, but don’t think about the poor animals that been tested with the evil arts?”. He had been my hero ever since then.
My second reason is about freedom and justice. If animals don’t get freedom and justice, why do we get it? We don’t have the right to do this even because we have better knowledge, and stuff like that, everyone is unique. For example, cheetahs are faster than us, etc. So, if you find a excuse of were wiser than them, what about them, everyone is unique, right? If we test it more animals there getting controlled and that is just not right. If we do not give the animals freedom, then we shouldn’t either. The people in the zoos care for them, not give them products and drugs, do they? Why don’t you feed dogs and cats the products? That is because there our friends, and the other animals are to so don’t think you could beat that speech, alright?
My last and final reason is care, you know when we were babies and our mother cared for us. Then let’s pretend to be moms and dads and help the poor little creatures out from their torture and let them be as free as the wind! Also testing drugs are very bad, imagine if you were tested and died of it won’t you go riotous?! Your whole life trying to live, and ended up dying of a product, how disappointing? Now the one who fed the product to you was disappointed, you know why? Cause it doesn’t work, but not because you died?! How disgraceful, monstrous, horrid! Well that’s what it feels like as an animal? Isn’t it disgraceful? Well now think twice, before you so it…
The final conclusion has come! Have you decided on which team you’re on? Well 1.6 billion people has chosen the side with light honesty and justice. Though, disappointingly some people chose the devil and darkness and concealing side. Though let’s all face it, to swear never ever, anywhere don’t feed products to animals. Then you have chosen the side of truth……

Annie’s Homework
Advantages and disadvantages of Outdoors
I’ve always enjoyed the outdoors, from being with others to just kicking an insignificant ball. But when you come to think of it, there are some flaws. Starting off, in the summer at this time, children and some adults are vulnerable to hay fever, an allergy causing your nose, eyes and other parts of your body to become irritatingly itchy. I have a mild allergy but up to now, scientists still haven’t found a cure to these major things. Even though I strongly agree to going outside, you need to take some precautions such as: wearing a mask (this is based in our perspective right now), putting sun cream on your limbs and face to defend yourself again any tan (except if you want one!), avoiding any complex and crowded roads such as pollution and the exhaust from cars may still linger there. Also take note of not staying outside too long in the sun as you can easily get dizzy of the heat and may feel very light. As these are quite annoying, also avoid bugs including mosquitoes and those human-biting pests. These things are commonly taken seriously, but to those who do not take it seriously, will be harmed. So, we can go outside, but consider the facts that may affect your oodles. Do go outside, I would because it’s: An amazing place to examine nature; you don’t find towering trees in your living room! A place to get fresh air when you feel uncapacious at home, lovely place to meet your peers, an excellent place for exercise and outdoor activities. Sometimes take care when skateboarding, riding a scooter, riding a bike etc. because you may fall and graze your elbow which can get infected. It’s up to your thought and opinion but even if you don’t like or enjoy the fresh fragrance of nature, you can go to your local shop and buy an ice cream or two and you may start to enjoy lying on a yoga mat, wearing shades and licking a cornetto under the sun in your back garden.
In conclusion, go outdoors, it’s one of the most effective ways of exercise and making yourself fit, just be wary of those harmful things they can do to you if you don’t go outside ready.

Summary for Lesson 5
In this week’s lesson we looked at writing from a title, using all the knowledge we have gained from the last five weeks to write a story without having a particular prompt or stimulus. The powerpoint with all of the resources is attached below and can be used to help remind students of planning technique and ideas surrounding genre for their future 11+ writing. The powerpoint contains lots of ideas on genre writing, literary techniques, speed-planning, blurb writing and using story arc structure. I was super impressed with everyone today, especially with how quickly and creatively everyone came up with their story ideas. There were some amazing literary techniques being used and everyone had a really sophisticated and mature grasp of genre, the conventions of a given genre and how it can affect creative writing. Beautiful work today guys, I really enjoyed our lesson today and I will see you all next week 🙂 Good luck on your mock exams for our next lesson!

A fresh start.
It’s the year 3020. Robots run the towns, and the world has become a mess of computers and robots, though both of them are basically each other. The artificial intelligence robots were built 50yrs ago and have now developed a goal for power, and now that they have it, they’re abusing it. That’s why in the depths of this cyber city, we’ve created a rebellion…
Will woke up in a sweat. He lived with the rebellion, as his parents gave birth to him there. Getting up and sweeping the blankets away from him, he filled his vomit bucket with water and poured it on Chester’s face.
‘AAAA!’ cried Chester, shaking his head from side to side in a desperate attempt to get the water out of his curly hair.
‘It’s 9:56. you should wake up soon or we’ll be late for breakfast.’ said Will, glancing on his smartwatch. Chester was Will’s best friend. Like Will, Chester grew up in the rebellion but was an orphan, as his parents were killed during a raid into the Robot factory, but as they called it ‘The Room Of Doom’.
The pair of friends raced into the kitchen, as their kitchen robot Bob served the cooked ramen.
‘So, planning for another raid?’ he enquired.
Bob was a rebel towards other robots, and decided to serve to the rebels, as he thought the robot-revolution was a bit well, too much for him.
‘Yeah’ chimed the boys simultaneously.
They tucked in to their noodles head first, forgetting they had some cyber forks and chopsticks on the table. They raced to the door and slid on their comfortable Cyverium shoes (Cyverium is a shoe company about the equivalent of reebok but in the future) and boarded their trusty hoverboards.
‘See you!’ cried Bob as he shut the door. Will acknowledged him with a slight nod, and they hovered over to the ‘Room of doom’.
Hovering over the modern streets was a great panorama, the wind blew in their faces like waves crashing onto a swimmer.
After a bit of hovering, they made a pit stop at ‘Dan’s diner’. They browsed the shelves of food, surveying every label and every price until they came to some soft drinks. They picked Cyber Fanta and payed the machine at the counter and found their infinite supply of Fanta for 24hours.
They reached the formidable gates of the factory and put on their disguises as robots (they swiped some robots and hollowed out the inside and put mesh on the eyes and Bob installed a robotic voice mod) and went inside.
Metal clanged and crashed, and robots moved around, making new robots every second. They walked towards a robot machine, and switched it off and jammed the ‘On’ button. Suddenly, an alarm went off and robots flocked to the machine, and ripped off the raider’s disguises. They were caught!!!!!!

Tom peered at the door with dubious eyes.
‘I don’t think we should go in there.’ shivered Tom.
‘You’re going in whether you like it or not.’ announced Julian, shoving Tom towards the door like a hunter and a cow.
‘Hey! I said I don’t think we should go there!’ yelled Tom at the top of his lungs, making Julian’s ears bleed, maybe Julian would need hearing aids after this story.
‘Will you keep it down? I’m trying to investigate something important here.’ cried Julian narrowing his eyes, a bit louder than Tom so he could be heard.
The pair of ‘investigators’ crept silently to the door like mice to cheese. They could feel shivers running through their slightly matured spines, like ants on your back, except it’s not.
‘I’m scared of the dark.’ whispered Tom to Juliam as silent as a mouse.
‘Well, if you’re scared of the dark then you’re scared of closing your eyes. Get over it!’ answered Julian, walking through the door.
Behind the door was a magnificent sight! There were huge gardens with filled with songs and music, a giant…
Oh wait it wasn’t.
‘Looks quite regular to me.’ commented Tom. ‘I mean, what did you expect Julian, a huge garden?’
Suddenly, something flickered in the corner of Tom’s eye, like a spark. As Tom turned his attention to the sudden flash, he noticed that it was the drawing boy!…

What do you think happened next in the story?
Julian gave a louder gasp than he meant to. Tom looked over to where Julian was staring they both couldn’t believe their eyes! Julian crept up to the door like he was James Bond with Tom closely behind him. Julian opened the door a crack. Suddenly gold light filled in front of their eyes. “Whoa!” Tom whispered. They looked around to make sure nobody was following them. Luckily, there wasn’t, there mums and dads were probably still doing their research. They crept in through the ajar door. They had opened it an inch so their parents couldn’t see the light upstairs. They went in and shut the door quietly behind them. Then suddenly, the lights went out. A voice said ‘Greetings my friends why don’t you come on to our camp we have lots to do there. Tom clutched onto Julian, afraid something bad will happen. Then, the room lit again, but this time they were in a mansion’s garden. It was filled with tents and trees surrounded the entire place. Tom nudged Julian “Aren’t those the painting we have back at the Museum?” Julian turned to see what Tom was looking at. “ That is very strange weren’t they still there when the boy left?” asked Julian
“Yes but you did say the boy likes painting didn’t you?” asked Tom.
“Yeah I did but what does that go to do with what we are talking about?” said Julian.
“Well, couldn’t he have painted his own version of a picture because this picture here by Van Gogh even has his signature and maybe he could have replaced it without anybody knowing.”
“Yes, Tom I can’t believe you have figured this out! Let’s head home and tell my dad he could easily sort this out.” Exclaimed Julian
“ But there are two problems.” Said Tom his face looking like he had just seen a ghost. “First I do not know where the exit is. And two I think that you should look at who is coming out of the mansion.
Julian turned around and saw the Indian boy coming up to them. “Run!” shouted Julian. But both of there feet were frozen. “Now, Now look who we have here!” said the Indian boy with a smirk.

Museums are boring and old-fashioned. Do you agree with this statement?
In my opinion, I don’t think that museums are boring but some can be old fashioned. Museums take us back in time, like a time machine. It tells you all about the past like fossils and painting from the past. In some museums, there are also some paintings these paintings are all have something special in them and probably small features that you have missed out. Museums are a bit old fashioned because it has loads of old things in it some of them have treasures like gold or somebody’s crown so that is why I think that some museums are old fashioned. Loads of museums are interesting things like a museum called ‘ Museum of interesting things’ have got some old fashioned stuff like them old CD players and a carriage with manikins and dolls inside it. That is why I don’t think that museums are boring</p>

Tom lunged towards the door, then suddenly without noticing tripped over a stand with a pot on it, he got up looking terribly injured, then jumped up shouting, EUREKA! I think that was a word that a Greek math prodigy in the ancient times used to say while jumping out of the bath, which means he got it, I think precisely, god people younger than me are so much brighter than me! What has happened to the world, thought Julian. Tom then got up and picked up a
tiny object, “Is that the key to my jam cupboard” called Julian. Tom roared with laughter,” No it’s the key to that door!”, “Though that looks like the same key though.” He shrugged and wore special agent glasses and threw some to me, then he posed like a super cool agent, Tom, who said, how am I moving? I twisted the key until it opened and we travelled together like an owner taking a walk with a dog. Tom who was wearing headphones, was looking even more disturbing than ever by walking while singing like a maniac, though everything makes sense, because he was hearing a band shouting and singing. They ran as quick as they can and Julian confiscating Tom’s headphones and dragging him like a baby holding out a little carriage was going to take eternity. The tunnel was a bit echoey, and thought some kind of bandit was going to kill us. We finally ended up into a little room where there was a basement storage as Tom has predicted. God Tom has ESP, I think. When we entered the alarm rang and a door slammed open were there was a red diamond. There was never a red diamond before in history, never formed in the mantle part of the earth’s crust. Though I knew it was time to run since, this is no under the museum but the mine built in the 1900s. We both ran for our lives, but the doors were shut, but they didn’t car what so ever and them down. Then we finally reached the museum and no one was chasing us, for now. Then a few security guards and asked us to hand over a diamond, Julian said that there wasn’t you name on it. While, he was saying that, Tom called the police and arrested the security guards immediately, for being robbers! Then Julian gave the diamond to his dad, and his dad was shocked, and reported to his office member, then Tom and Julian got few million pounds for being a founder! They then solved more mysteries and became real secret agent while in school!

Museums aren’t boring!
Consider what I’ve just said above carefully. Next time you’re on a school trip and you’re groaning, don’t. It’s simple. Just be quiet and enter the museum. Who knows what it will bring you?
Museums aren’t boring for many reasons.
So let’s start with the first and most important reason. Learning. Museums are built for multiple reasons, such as a place to have fun, but the key is actually to learn more about the world!
Net, museums show you lots of cool things and events in history, such as genuine World War 2 planes (unfunctioning) and much more!
So if you hate museums, or just don’t really like them just try to just get in the museum and see what it’ll bring you.

Hi guys,
The way homework feedback is working this week is I am posting all of your marks below, but will not post your full feedback until after the lesson. This is because our lesson today is about self-evaluation and you idenitifying what went well and what could be improved on in your own work, so I don’t want to give you any clues!
Just click on the link with your name and it has your mark for both questions and an overall percentage.
Well done everyone and I will see you later 🙂

Summary for Lesson 6
In today’s lesson we went through the mock exams assigned for homework, learning how to get inside an examiner’s head. The powerpoint with all of the resources is attached below and can be used to help remind students of what examiners look for, techniques for self-evaluation, marking criteria and the vocabulary bank which they all contributed to. This powerpoint is super important for reminding students of what they really need to focus on in the 11+ writing exams, especially in terms of what the people marking them will be looking out for. It also contains some examples we marked as a class, and some model answers, and students should definitely keep this powerpoint to help them continue to prepare for their exams. Just to re-iterate, the full feedback for the mock exam will be uploaded in a week, after all corrections have been made by the students themselves for homework as I want them to learn to self-evaluate which they will not be able to do if they see my full feedback beforehand (they do however have their marks and so can use those for reference on what they might need to improve). Overall, everyone did really brilliantly today and it’s been a joy to teach this class. I was really impressed by the vocabulary everyone was using, the thoughtfulness with which they evaluated their own work, and also the way in which everyone picked up on mistakes in the work we marked together. Good luck everyone in your future endeavours, it was lovely to meet you all 🙂
Homework
This homework is optional as we have no further lessons together, however I think it would definitely be beneficial to complete it as I will then be able to provide feedback on the corrected pieces of work as well as the original, so you can track your progress.

Are museums old fashioned and boring?
Are you saying that museums are old fashioned and boring? Well if you are in that case you are wrong in my point of view. I think that all museums are very interesting and unique.
Why you may be asking. Well, every museum has something special in them that nobody pays attention to. Like for example a small fossil that was a very interesting animal or it could be a small part of a skeleton that was part of a dinosaur as people don’t think that dinosaurs existed. People don’t even notice these small things
Also, museums have lots of fun facts that you didn’t know. Like for example if you see a sapphire and underneath it said that somebody went mining and found it. For people who are interested, they could also go mining and see if they could find any because there is more that maybe there are still more precious gems underground.
In my point of view, I think that museums are like a time machine because it tells you the truth about the past. Whereas, people can just predict the past saying that humans looked like elephants in 1613 or that in 1988 people lived in trees. But, there is no evidence that they looked live elephants or lived in trees in 1987.What do you think happened next in the story?
Julian gave a little gasp at his sudden discovery. Tom looked over to where Julian was staring. They both crept up to the door like ninjas just in case something sprang out from nowhere. Then suddenly the light went out.
Tom’s hair on the back of his neck stood up as Julian opened the door. The light inside the museum made eerie shadows inside the sombre room. Julian and Tom crept slowly into the room. Suddenly, a voice came out of nowhere Tom clutch onto Julian’s arm like a baby. “Welcome master. Why don’t you come and spend your time today in the woods? Just don’t swallow a spider!” The voice chuckled. Then all of a sudden they were thrown by a gust of wind in an endless pit. The pair of them screamed until their lungs hurt. After a minute or two they felt themselves land hard on their bottoms.
Julian opened his eyes, at first, he thought he was in a pile of mud, but then he realised he was in a forest and the ground didn’t have a piece of grass on it. It looked like a big bog that was on the ground with lots of trees sticking out from it.
“Tom wake up. Look where a horrible beast brought us! Whoever it is I am going to take revenge!” cried Julian fiercely. Tom groaned as he opened his eye. “Where are we? ”Asked Tom very mystified. “Am I in a dream I feel sleepy.” He gave a massive yawn after he said that. “Don’t you remember anything, you idiot. We opened a door to try and find the peculiar Indian boy that has been disappearing and then this mysterious voice spoke to us and the next thing we find out is ‘Poof!’ just like that we are now in a weird-looking forest.” Julian told Tom. “What are you waiting for? Come on, let’s go and explore,” said Tom thrilled
They searched around to see if they can find anything but they couldn’t find a thing.
This place is useless, why does the Indian boy come here?” inquired Julian. But then something suddenly caught his eyes, it was gold he turned around for a proper look. There hidden in between some logs were a pile of paintings that looked like the one in the museum. “Hey, Tom! Look what I found here!” shouted Julian. Tom rushed over to see Julian’s discovery. Before they could dig in some more there came some rustling in the bushes behind them. They froze like statues. “Well, well, well, look who we have here!” said a familiar voice behind them. They turned their stiff necks to see that the Indian boy was standing there with a massive grin on his face.-

This is a brilliant improvement Thea, really well done for thinking more about structure in the persuasive essay and using your point, evidence, explain skills. I also love how you have re-worked your story to make it even more suspenseful and how you have used some really vivid and exciting vocabulary to grab the reader’s attention. Check the previous post for your full feedback on the exam, but really well done for these corrections they are spot on! See you soon 🙂

Summary for Lesson 7
In today’s lesson we looked at historical writing, using our inference skills to write about a day in history as if we were there using evidence we had gathered. The powerpoint with all of the resources is attached below and should be used to help write the historical stories assigned for homework. The powerpoint contains ideas on what evidence to use when inferring, the importance of sensory description, character development and story planning. This was a fantastic class today, I was really impressed by the range of sensory language, literary techniques, vocabulary and thematic ideas that everyone was coming up with. We had some amazing thoughts on inference and how to build a whole historical world in the reader’s mind. Everyone was full of energy and fab contributions and I really enjoyed today’s class. Which historical event am I most sorry to have missed?
It was a day that I would never forget. It was the 6th of June 1944, the day when we went to France. I had to wake up at 3 I the morning because I was too excited. Although we were doing it through World War II, this was an important mission that I knew that me and my team couldn’t fail. We had teamed up with: France, Canada, the United States, and most importantly us, England. The Germans had invaded and occupied Belgium, The Netherland, and a large area of France. We had to find a way of reliving the occupied countries. We had thousands of soldiers spread out on 5 beaches in Normandy.
I was on one of the 2,500 ships sailing to France. My other friends were on an aircraft or on a Navel ship. We arrived around 6 o’clock on the Normandy coast. The ship dropped us off with some of our tanks and went off to carry more men and tanks. The best bit was when we fired at the German forts, it was so epic. But unfortunately, they were so well built and they were protected and attacked us.
On our British beach, we did a good job. The Americans faced some pretty strong attacks. We were on the ship moving off the beach when the Americans were still fighting they took a bit longer than expected to move out of the Island. As we went to help another one.
But the Germans didn’t give up yet. We were still fighting in Normandy for the islands. The Normandy was going on for weeks. But, in the end, the Americans broke through the German defenses.
By the time we started a new attack, the German soldiers were exhausted and beginning to retreat. Some Germans were surrounded and captured by us. By August 1944 we had reached Paris, France, and had freed it from German occupation.
But., more than 200,000 men were killed or wounded at the end. My best friend was killed by a sneaky German soldier. Although we were successful and were cheering and screaming, deep inside I felt horrible.-

The Gazing Fish
Wow! So, this is what humongous fish trawlers look like; the ones Agnes, my mother used to flinch about. My mother used to tell me stories about the notorious, brutal, savage humans that overpower both ground and sky and a portion of our water kingdom. They slay hundreds, maybe thousands of fish every day, making them into luxurious fish platters. In our French stretch of water, I thought a limited amount of destruction was enough, and that we were safe, but none of that was correct. A stampede of greasy boots was coming towards me, followed by the rattle of guns and cries of help. If my mum wasn’t pulverized by a spear yesterday, she would tell me, “Bailey, dear. Those are bad people, so cruel that you can’t change them. A fish’s life is always ended by some kind of human, native or nomadic. We are small, weak and we don’t stand a chance.” I considered that, nibbled a bit of seaweed and hurried away. I think more were coming, thousands, maybe. I heard booms that landed a few meters ahead of me, self-destructing. I suppose I’m just an insignificant gazing fish that’s about to get bombed on by some metal cylinder with spinning sticks. That’s great news, now to find something to write my will on, though I have nothing to give except some slimy strands of seaweed that I always end up wolfing down. Amongst them, I heard a noise. I saw a minor woman jogging towards the front of the ship and a man in a peculiar robe. He had no gun, except a pistol and he shouted quite loudly,
“Marinette, isn’t it great to see this? This minute is a prodigy!” I guess the woman in the pale blue dress is Marinette then. She brushed her skirt a little and replied.
“Yes, Charper. It’s all in those history books, sir detective. “
They started quarrelling whether they should go up close, or just stay there. The duo’s fight was brief and they concluded that they were going to stay on the boat.
That’s what I call cowards, even is one of them is a detective. I wonder how they managed to go on adventures. They must’ve gone through a few quarrels, with Marinette’s girly temper.
Never mind girls, I’ll be offending myself later. My clear blue patch of water was soon polluted with ink-black soot and I had to squirm away from my batch of seaweed. Didn’t smell good, whether I had a nose or not. I suddenly need to hold my breath. Someone has picked me up! It’s Marinette! I wiggle around, trying to get her out of my grasp. I start shuddering, hoping that my body won’t freeze. I could feel my scales drooping and my gills close until… I’m safe! Marinette obviously must’ve spotted me and picked me up! Well, I can’t say that she’s sassy anymore. Settling down in my musty sack, I adapt, finding a few chunks of seaweed and some fish food? I’m no goldfish, Marinette.
“Well, Marinette. Is the fish ok? Also, it’s not a goldfish so why give her fish food? Not logical, even if you were a botanist and journalist, and a doctor, and an artist… and ended up getting fired from all of them…”
“DIDN’T I SAY DON’T MENTION IT? FIRSTLY, IT WAS DEREK WHO GOT ME OUT OF BOTANY, THE NEWSPAPER DIDN’T NEED AN EXTRA JOURNALIST, THE MEDICAL WORKING WAS ONLY TEMPORARY AND I STARTED ART AS A PASSION!!!” I think our ‘Sherlock Holmes’ incensed Marinette. She was infuriated! I made bubbles ascend to the top of the box because I was giggling! I zoomed around and made more effervescent bubbles than before.
“Hey, Marinette. The fish is laughing too! Now, calm yourself! A little too angered yourself, eh? Don’t get so angry. Let’s not mention that EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU’RE ANGRY SOME BAD THING HAPPENS!!! Like the time we first saw each other, in that weird tunnel which leads to an airfield. You were angry about the fact that I said I thought something was watching us, there was, well a shrew.” Good point, Charper. He’s one joker and I can’t deny it.
I saw some blood under me. Someone had been shot. There was a soldier who collapsed to the ground, taking one more breath. His body was sprawled out and a sniper must’ve shot him. I couldn’t cry, I’m a fish, after all. Detective James Charper and Marinette were retreating somewhere and, on the way, they freed me in the Mediterranean Sea to find a new home in. I might find some new friends, away from D-day, a living nightmare of screams and bloodshed that I didn’t know would result in rescuing even more soldiers that died.

Summary for Lesson 8
In this week’s lesson we looked at consolidating our story writing skills, focusing on all the different aspects of narrative writing we have considered in the past (continuing a story, story arc writing, using genre to write a story, show don’t tell) and consolidating our knowledge of both the planning and the writing process. The powerpoint with all of the resources is attached below should be used to help plan and write the stories assigned for homework. The powerpoint contains ideas on narrative writing, word choice, genre (in particular the conventions of adventure writing) and how it changes the way a story is told, and a few ideas on descriptive writing in a plot-based piece. Today’s class were fab, I was really impressed by the level of enthusiasm and all the energy and ideas swirling around. We had some amazing vocabulary being used, particularly when we were thinking about how word choice influences the tone and style of a story. Everyone contributed some fantastic ideas in today’s class, and we had a lot of fun with the literary version of Stop the Bus too- which the class completed with a huge amount of energy and coming up with some wonderful ideas. Really well done guys, have fun writing your stories and I will see you all next week 🙂

It was the wrong dog! (Based on ‘Bolt’)
Sammy was a dog. A ‘English Foxhound’ to be precise. Now, Sammy wasn’t any dog. Not the kind that barks at you in the park, nor the aggressive dogs that roam dirty streets. Sammy was in the movie business. He played the main character in a show, which is named ‘Dogs vs Zombies’. He was an impeccable dog both as a pet and as a movie-star.
‘Ugh’ groaned a zombie, mindlessly searching for brains. The zombie suddenly spotted something, or rather someone in the corner of its distorted and bloodshot eyes. A human! The zombie lumbered carelessly towards his prey.
‘BARK BARK!’ barked Sammy, as any Dog would. Sammy threw his minute size of 3.7lbs at the zombie, tripping the mindless bag of flesh a bones as it fell down, slightly wounding his broken and bloody body, this injury was quickly added to the walking lump of flesh as the zombie lumbered away.
‘CUT!’ yelled a voice, slicing the air of the apocalyptic town. A buzz of chatter and footsteps echoed across the set, the ‘zombie’ tearing off his dirty ragged clothes and replacing it with a wooly jumper to get his face, legs and arms scrubbed, removing the zombie make-up.
Sammy waddled over to a door. He knew this was something that opened to something. Sammy had seen them being opened and zombies lying inside what the door contained. Sammy crawled past the door and pushed past human faces, skidding to a halt in front of a huge set of double doors, waddling out into the street.
It was 2 weeks after Sammy’s disappearence, and the team were getting worried. The show had been cancelled and they were offering a reward of 500,000 pounds.
After 3 days of searching, the producer’s department got a call from a number and the caller said they had found Sammy. After that it was a whirlwind of cheques and cameras.
When they got back to the studio, they brought the dog on stage and began act-5. The dog simply scratched himself, but now the producers had realised_ the dog was a female, and wasn’t one bit like Sammy, ignoring the appereance. IT WAS THE WRONG DOG!

Describe a journey to school after a heavy snowfall.
Yesterday was one of the worst days ever! We had to spend the whole day inside and there was nothing to do. It snowed up to 12 inches!! It was like the snow was besieging our house. It was so unfair. We couldn’t switch the TV on or anything because the power was cut. We were supposed to do our weekly shopping today. But you can’t go anywhere and the supermarket was closed. We had to eat the last scrap of coco pops and as we ran out of milk, we had to have some orange juice. Trust me, that was disgusting, I will never try that again. My brother finished his co-co pops without complaining about the sour taste it had. That was because he had already tried disgusting things before like mushrooms in coffee. Don’t ask me what he was thinking. Lunch and dinner were worse, we had to have some leftover sandwiches we found at the back of the fridge. But it smelled funny so I ate some two small pea pods. It was better than eating rotten food. Well, today was better. I woke up at four in the morning to help my dad dig the snow. We could go to school today!! But the snow was only up to our knees. Unlike yesterday. Our mum had gone to the supermarket to get food. It took us one and a half hour to dig the snow. We had our breakfast and set off to school. We had to trudge through the snow. I saw loads of people from my class throwing snowballs at each other. It was really fun. Loads of people were there early so we could build a snowman. In our playground we built the biggest snowman in the world, it took us nearly half an hour. Once we were just finished our snowman, the bell went off for school. Everybody groaned. At least we could go to school today and I am delighted. I am sure everyone else is too.-

We began our lesson with a study of Martin Luther King’s I Have a Dream speech, one of the most influential and well-written speeches in history. The powerpoint with all of the resources is attached below and should be used to help plan and write the speeches assigned for homework. The powerpoint contains lots of ideas on speech writing techniques, the structure of a speech, what makes the I Have a Dream speech so powerful and effective, character creation and thoughts on the persuasive and literary devices that can be used in speeches to help corroborate the speaker’s point. It also contains our discussion of the exam paper question and what answering it entails. The class did really well today, especially considering the fact that we were tackling a huge subject and thinking about lots of complex concepts. I was really impressed by everyone’s knowledge of language techniques and also their analysis of the I Have a Dream speech and what makes it so powerful. Everyone contributed beautifully today, and I also loved all the presidential characters that the class created in preparation for their homework. Really well done guys for today, I really enjoyed our lesson together and was very impressed with the originality and sparky nature of the work that you all completed. Keep up the great work and have fun writing your speeches! 🙂
Homework
Here is a video looking further into the effectiveness and legacy of the I Have a Dream speech, which will really help you when you are writing your homework, to remind you of how King writes so beautifully and powerfully, combining metaphorical, persuasive and emotive language to drive his point home: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_IB0i6bJIjw

Equality. It’s one very simple word to say, but it has a huge meaning that many cannot act on. Equality once wasn’t a thing. It used to be a small voice, whispering into the darkness, but I’m here to make it echo through the high mountains of France, the huge buildings in London and the hot airs is Africa. Before, Black people were treated badly. That has been fixed. Equality must roam the streets of China, or on the poor countries of Africa.
How are we going to do it? I will add some new laws, laws saying that if anybody treats anyone badly, they will be put in jail for the night. If anyone wants to treat store workers badly, they can get fined £100. If anyone chooses to not wear a mask in these times, you will be fined £50.
I want equality because it is one of the most basic forms of respect. It helps out maybe billions of people, and is quite simple to do. Treat others how you want to be treated back. If you’re nasty to them, they’ll start treating you badly. If you treat them with respect, they’ll treat you the same way.
In summary, I am putting laws making sure the world will be a better place to all those children out there who will shape the future!

My president’s speech
Today is today. Tomorrow is the future. OK, we are here today not in the future, in the present. We are here today to tell you about the importance of money. Money is everywhere. Nearly everyone in the world has money. But, have you ever thought about the people who are suffering from money?
Did you know it is estimated around 150 million people in the whole world are homeless and don’t have money? It is estimated that around 320,000 people are homeless in the UK. Homeless people are cold, homeless are miserable and the homeless are destitute. I can predict that every one of you that are here has passed a lot of homeless people, am I right? It is estimated that around 2% of the world are homeless. If you are thinking that is very small then you are wrong, think about how many people are in the world. Think about how many people are in the world about 7.8 billion people. We have also estimated that it is around 1.6 billion people live in the inadequate shelter!
I want every one of you in this room to do something. Something, that will help the homeless. Something that will change the world. Something that will make another one’s life easier. Even if it is giving the homeless some money or taking them out for a meal or even if you are luxurious buy them a house (I don’t think that that is ever going to happen but you could try).We have great challenges and great opportunities, and with your help, we will meet them and make this next year the best year in our history!

The Melody that used to be
We’re gone through too much ice. Literally, and metaphorically. I remember playing the piano, with the notes playing at my touch. Lullabies, jazz, preludes, inventions, sinfonias, sonatas, I played them all. They were all diverse, of course, but they all sounded like the rolls of a wave. Think, now. You can’t think an hour later, or I’ll already have gone. Right now, you’re standing on millions- of- year-old ice sheets. It’s a fact before different biomes of Earth were created. Right now, this heartbeat is like the crash of the waves, eroding rocks, and forming them into helpless things, that cannot be altered again. Take a child, for instance, and watch them frolic with their peers. Notice their impish actions, and beam. Remember you being in that position years ago. Explorers, those daring people, so ambitious. They sometimes take months to navigate through, to the Arctic plain, and when they take a glimpse, they fall into a pit of disappointment. All of the frosty shimmers that gingerly lay on the snow had melted, the snow itself was ruined, not like the packed ice that others spoke of. The animals were scarce, even spotting one polar bear is extremely seldom. They don’t enjoy it, they will never. Their adaptations have shown immense changes due to horrifying weather. The sun has melted the flat, crystal snow into a soggy mess.
Who is responsible? Is this a crime? Those two questions shall be answered. Our Earth, we are responsible. While others blame it on volcanoes and just natural sun, I believe it is more than that. I think us humans are slowly tearing off the edges of the earth. I believe Earth played a melody for us, and we didn’t listen. I think we all made a change, even if it is so mini that we can’t sense it. We’ve all done something wrong, you can’t deny it. We’re all a part of a puzzle piece. The melody that our surroundings play is to soothe us, to mollify us. But it ended up making us all try to make a ‘better’ Earth. We did, in a way. We ‘stopped’ animals hunting some endangered species, by hunting down the vicious predators, thus aggravating the situation. We don’t admit it; we’re clueless. We don’t know. We have tried so many attempts, that we don’t know our next note or chord on our sheet music. We sit there, puzzled, bewildered.
Climate change is not a crime. Spoken by two prominent detectives, James Charper and Marinette Flovurr, they say that in the law scripts. But too much of a difference, it could result in a crime. Like the music from earlier on. If we get too many wrongs, the piece sounds messed up. We turned the wrong page, so we need to pause and thumb through every page to find it again. That is not a minor setback, it’s a mammoth change. No, children, not the extinct mammoth as well, it’s the one that cannot be changed. Consider it, try to depict a wasteland of nothing in the Arctic plains, north, and south.
We cannot hold back our thoughts and retreat to some slovenly lounge. We cannot stop the flow of confusion, but we can try to make everything reduce slower, postpone it. It’s too clear that we are not innocent now. Let me, president Ava, take a new page and we shall play a new piece! We will not be baffled, we will follow. We shall let this flow carry on for a few more years! Let the gales blow through the feeble leaves! Let us restore the Melody that used to be!
(Sorry, couldn’t send it as a file)

Which historical event did i miss?
I would pick the ‘Creation of the Earth’, yes, you heard it right. The Creation of the Earth. It would be impossible to witness, but still. It would be cool to watch. I mean, imagine witnessing the Earth being created as we know it.
Some people believe that ‘God’ created the Earth. Well, you have your beliefs because I don’t believe in God. I’ve been criticised because I don’t believe in God. Seriously. But what I remember about the story about how God created Earth. God did a whole bunch of stuff before resting on a Sunday.
But enough of that, What about the scientifical side, The Earth began collecting dust and debris and swirled it into the Earth. This would’ve several billion years, but still cool to watch.
(Sorry I couldn’t submit this earlier, it got lost and didn’t save.

And I don’t know anyone who saw the creation of the Earth. I think it’s impossible, but maybe someone has seen it…
I find it hard to believe that we were once small forms of life, and whizz past maybe billions of years and somehow people have invented this marvellous piece of machinery I’m writing on! (It’s a PC ) .
If someone HAS seen the creation of Earth, then they would see no change. Every day the only change they’d see would be maybe a bit of dust attaching another piece. But if it was on video (Somehow) and if we put it on x1,000,000,000,000 speed (Somehow) we would see the Creation in several seconds!
If I had to pick an event humans have seen, it would be the Egyptian Pyramids and the wonders inside. Sure, there won’t be 100inch flat-screen plasma TVs, but there should be lavish gardens, colourful tables and the horrible conditions of the servants’ quarters (Stinky probably!)

Summary for Lesson 10
In today’s lesson, and our final lesson together, we looked at dialect writing, thinking about how to use speech, dialect, idioms and colloquialisms to help build authentic and vivid characters in response to a 13+ scholarship exam paper from Westminster School. The powerpoint with all of the resources is attached below and should be used to help plan and write the stories assigned for homework. The powerpoint contains lots of ideas on what dialect means and how to use dialect in writing through thinking about colloquial language from Victorian London, considering Cockney Rhyming slang, character creation and using Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens as inspiration. It also contains the exam paper picture prompt, context and question. Everyone did brilliantly today, and really threw themselves into our work on dialect and character creation. I was super impressed by how quickly the class grasped the language of Cockney Rhyming Slang, and how they were able to play around with the dialect to fit it to their needs. I loved the character creation this class came up with, and how vividly they wrote about the backstory to their protagonist. I have really enjoyed teaching this class, and am sad that this is our last lesson together for the time being! I really hope you all feel super prepared for your 11+ writing now, and remember that you can always revise our lessons together from the powerpoints on this forum, thinking back over all the different styles and formats of exam questions we have studied. I have been really impressed by how you have all traversed so many different styles and genres of writing and have taken everything well within your stride- well done guys! Remember to use any many literary techniques as possible in your writing, and to experiment with some high level vocabulary, alongside retaining all the wonderful creativity and imagination you have displayed in our lessons together! Really well done guys , I am really impressed by your progress and standard of work and I wish you lots of good luck for the future! Thank you everyone 🙂

P.S. I’ve also attached the exam paper for this week below. The question we were studying is on pages 6-7 🙂

It didn’t seem to be uploading. So I wrote it here:
Continue the story about James.
However, what they didn’t know was that the prisoner James was already onshore. James walked onto a street, he didn’t know. All of the people were talking loudly. “ Hey! What re you doing here.” said a stranger talking to James. “ No strangers allowed!”
“I’m no stranger!” said James “ I escaped the Boom as it was taking us to a place where you have to be a slave. So I made a pretty big risk by jumping off the nanny. Landed between 2 nannies, but luckily I used to play the Tuba, so luckily I could hold my breath and swim underwater for long. I knew that people were going to search for me so when I was sure the coast was clear, I climbed back onto shore and ran as fast as I could.”
“What does that mean you escaped a boom. Does that mean you were in a fire? Also, when you said a nanny do you mean an old lady?” said the stranger.
“No, you Tommy tug. A boom and mizzen mean prison and a nanny goat is a boat!” shouted James
“All right, keep your hair on. You looked all drenched let’s go and warm you up. I have a place in mind where you can stay and it will not bring any trouble.” said the friendly man
“Trouble? Is your trouble there? I want somewhere that nobody can see me.” cried James.
“No! I mean there will not be any trouble like nobody will find you.” sighed the man.
“OH, I thought you meant your trouble and strife. By the way, I’m James,” said James taking his hand out.
“I’m Charles. Nice to meet you. Now let’s go to the place that I was talking about.” said Charles shaking James’s hand.
