The Iron Man

Chapter 1  (by Taiwan)

After Iron Man’s famous defeat of the space-bat-angel, the world congratulated him with millions upon millions of tons of junk. This made him incredibly happy but a small part of him was still not content and he became very conflicted. You see, the Iron Man was made of metal and the space bat angel’s singing had no effect on him and so therefore he became depressed and hid away from everyone.

The people in the village noticed this first when he came to play with Hogarth less and less until he stopped altogether. Hogarth tried all that he could to coax the Iron Man out of his junkyard but to no avail. Before long, the entire village tried to get him out, but they were not sure what he wanted. Neither did he for that matter. The Iron Man kept telling himself that all was fine, that he was being too greedy, always wanting something but deep down, he knew it was a lot more than that.

The Iron Man became restless, making metallic echoes and clunks throughout the night which the villagers complained a lot about. People recently had felt too like the Iron Man was asking too much of them and one day, started protesting so as he was in his mental state, he started to believe that it was true so before long, he started packing his bags until everyone was asleep one night and left.

The Iron Man walked everywhere in search of a desolate place to stay and eventually settled on a desert far away from his village, made shelter, and settled down for the night.

In the morning, the Iron Man sat up from his stargazing and stretched his arms which had rusted up at night whilst absent-mindedly, he noticed a cloud in the distance. A desert cloud. They did not naturally appear in the desert and only after a couple of seconds did he realize that it was a sandstorm moving towards him. Swiftly, he constructed a sand shield from his scraps to protect himself which was made just before the storm hit. It lasted for days on end until one day when the Iron Man thought he could not go on for any longer, the storm had stopped.

Relieved, he tried to move his legs out of the sandpit that had been created underneath him but could not. He tried to move his arms as well but still no success. Then, it hit him: he was stuck. He assumed that it was sand stuck in his joints and tried to shake some of the sand off him but that did not work for he was paralyzed all over and could not move anything at all. His only hope was for someone to find him in the desert so he waited again, hoping that fate would be kind to his existence. So of course, it was.

Chapter 2 (by Maximilian)

The Iron Man waited for ages. Water poured down as sand chewed at his metal. He was slowly becoming rust. He needed a miracle to be saved. He pushed and struggled with all his might, but he had no luck getting out. As far as he knew, there was nothing that could save him. But then, a miracle happened. When the Iron Man thought he would be shut down and stranded forever, a green vehicle appeared out of nowhere and suddenly stopped. Two people came out of the vehicle. The Iron Mans’ eyes were flickering off as the two men decided what to do with him.

Once he woke up, he was in a disassembled state, his arms and legs were on one side of a huge workshop, and wires sprouted into his head. He felt very sleepy and tired. What was going on? The Iron man fell unconscious. He opened his eyes again to see him reassembled and hooked onto multiple helicopters. The Iron Man tried to move and break out but it was like he couldn’t move anything. Where were they taking him? They dropped him back into the middle of the desert. The Iron Man wandered around looking at his surroundings and distance he could vaguely see a huge object. It was a pyramid!

The Iron Man strode towards it with all his strength towards it. Once he got close, it seemed to flicker out of view. Had he imagined it? He held his hand out and then, he could see it again. He walked up the huge steps of the pyramid. The Iron Man found an entrance on the side of the pyramid it was locked but it was no match against a colossal robot. Once he entered it was very barren, there was almost nothing in it apart from a large coffin in the middle. Hr shoved it open. A deep rumbling began to happen, but the Iron Man didn’t care. In the coffin was a robot-like him.

Chapter 3 (by Zile)

Just then, the mysterious iron person began making his first moves after a whole eternity of no movement. It was also rusty, but the Iron man were gallons of pure liquid away from being identical rusty twins. The Iron Man seemed to not know that there was a whole row of coffins, in fact, the entire pyramid was well supplied with half-living, half-dead versions of himself each with similar personalities. Over in the village, Hogarth was starting to worry a lot about the missing iron giant. He had thought The Iron Man felt belonged to the village but Something must have gone wrong, well not just wrong but VERY wrong.

Packing his bag, Hogarth set off to find his metal friend, firstly heading towards Egypt. The Iron Man was feeling rather stuck after having all limbs almost paralyzed with the help of the golden grains, since when would you find a motionless robot staring at the eyes of an identical-looking structure! When Hogarth thought he could not go any longer, he realized an Ancient Egyptian pyramid. (Hogarth may not know now, but this pyramid was the one The Iron Man had entered earlier.) (As the landmark invigorated him) Hogarth decided to enter the pyramid himself but as he took just one single step inside, he fainted at the sight of the iron giant he was looking for.

Chapter 4 – (By Taiwan)

Hogarth woke up. He did not remember going to sleep but sometimes that happened to him. He would wake up in his bed and not remember the last day, so he assumed that was what was happening. But he did remember what happened the day before. He was looking for the Iron Man and stumbled into the pyramid. But he was at home and in his bedroom. Hogarth assumed it was a dream and he climbed out of bed for the day and looked at the window, towards his friend’s junkyard but the Iron Man was not there. In a panic, he rushed downstairs to find his friend standing outside. As he looked, Hogarth became very confused. This could not be true. He tried slapping himself and pinching his cheeks. It did not work. Eventually, he realized that everyone was completely still and immobile. This could not be realistic, and it would not be possible for everyone to ignore him unless the entire village was playing a joke. Just to check, he tried pushing people around but to no avail. This made him suspicious of what was going on. Just then, he remembered a thing he had seen on TV about illusions and lucid dreaming. This was quite a link to what he felt like he was in now and thought of ways to get out of this state. He thought just his will could get him out but, not much to his surprise, it did not work. Hogarth racked his brain for more ideas but could not produce any and sat down.

Meanwhile, Iron Man was having a similar problem. In finding his new ‘friend,’ he too noticed that the other robot was immobile, however, he just assumed it was from the rust which made him that way like himself and tried all he could to revive his friend. He wished that there would something to help him but no sooner had the thought entered his head, a toolkit appeared beside him. This surprised him greatly but almost immediately, he set to work fixing the robot. He did not know much about robotics, though he was a robot, he thought did quite well, fixing the other robot in just a few hours. Quickly, he noticed that the robot was still immobile but thought nothing of the problem, yet again. He just assumed that his friend was built differently and more human. This made him try CPR on the robot, attempting to revive him that way. Unfortunately, that did not work either. This made him really confused as he tried everything in his power to help his friend, yet he could not. This finally, though he did not like it, made him conclude that either, the robot was not working or that it was fake. He decided to go with the first choice though little did he know, the second choice was spot on just like Hogarth’s theory. Whilst the Iron Man was struggling, Hogarth was out and off to find him.

Chapter 5 by Maximilian

As Hogarth set off, he tried to remember in the direction he went in. On the TV it said it wasn’t possible to read in dreams. Hogarth looked at a random sign. The letters seem to fly around his head fuzz out. So, he was in a dream? Absolutely. His physical self was lying unconscious in the pyramid. So, what was happening to the Iron Man? He was not in a dream but his wires had short-circuited from the sand falling inside him causing his eyes to stop working and only seeing a picture of what he saw before they broke. Nothing was working in the Iron Man’s eyes and Hogarth was unconscious. Could anything get worse? Of course. The other Iron Men started to move coffins slowly opening them creakily. The grinding noises of hundreds of rusty Iron people moving filled the whole pyramid. Meanwhile, Hogarth was awoken by this atrocious noise. The rumbling started again. What was going on?

Suddenly, it felt like they were rising up. Hogarth peeked over the edge. The whole pyramid was taking off and into the air. Then he saw what was making the pyramid rise. His head spun. Was he hallucinating? No, multiple Iron Men like his giant friend lifted the pyramid off the ground equipped with rockets in their legs. Soon they were in space. A dome formed around the pyramid. Suddenly, the light was defied and they warped faster than ever. They stopped slowly and Hogarth saw what they were flying into. A huge black hole. Hogarth wanted to scream but instead, he almost passed out and gripped a ledge in the pyramid. Then he saw no hope. They were getting slowly pulled towards the inside of the pyramid. Once the pyramid got much closer, he felt like all the air was being sucked out of his lungs. Then, he really passed out. Unfortunately, falling out of the pyramid…

________________________________________________________________________________________________

Chapter 6 (by Zile)

Inside the black hole were lots of random things such as tables, chairs, and even dinosaurs! The ride gradually came to an end and the Iron Man’s eyesight strengthened. The Iron man landed on an alien-purple egg. The strange thing is that the egg didn’t crack nor break, it just stood there as good as new. The Iron Man was quite puzzled only to notice that this particular egg was the purple planet that was in Hogarth’s space book a couple of weeks ago. On it, there were some strangely built mansions and the pyramid which had been torn to rubble after being swallowed by the black-space-hole monster and crash landing into this world. The Iron Man suggested a plan to make a rocket out of all this rubble to fly back home but a poor brain meant that it was almost impossible to create such a thing.

By the way, who could possibly build such a powerful device, strong enough to lift The Iron Man’s full weight off the ground? The Iron Man was stuck… Again, after spending an inordinate amount of time in this dimension, he just wanted to relax his overthinking mind. Then, he woke up (not knowing he fell asleep) with the world around him totally different. A pig, a girl, and a spider were all in a stable around the outside of the farm. The Iron Man realized the truth, he had teleported into another book – Charlotte’s web. After a long day of work, The Iron Man tried again and for the billionth time, closed his eyes and gradually fell asleep. It was a significant sight…

________________________________________________________________________________________________
Chapter 7 ( by Taiwan)

He was in the black hole originally but instead of Hogarth being with him, there was a giant alien- the same species as the one he had seen on earth! The alien descended towards him and looked him in the eye

“You have enslaved one of ours, have you not?”

The Iron Man nodded his head and though he was perfectly capable of speech, he felt he would not. This turned out to be lucky as those alien creatures do not appreciate such responses and they believe that such a thing is rude. Just then, things in the black hole started exploding and they all started flickering. Meanwhile, Hogarth was in a different part and had not yet experienced the flickering. He was wondering where the Iron Man was and as he looked around for his friend, he too felt the flickering start. At first, it was barely noticeable but it steadily became more obvious and before he knew it, the black hole had exploded. Just then, they landed on another planet Hogarth and The Iron Man together but also with the alien. It seemed to be unconscious so they quietly moved on and started discussing plans to escape the planet, however, they soon ran into a problem. Neither of them knew how to build a rocket ship and they assumed none of the other inhabitants of the planet other than the space bat which, as far as they were concerned, was not helpful as they were sure once it woke up it would kill the duo.

Chapter 8 (by Maximilian)

The Iron Man and Hogarth racked their brains for something to do but they weren’t fast enough. The alien was slowly waking up. In terror, Hogarth stared at the monster. The Iron Man screamed, “Run!” This jarred Hogarth back to life and he ran like the wind. The space-bat angel sneered in disgust and flew with all its might at them. The Iron Man was leaping extremely fast and Hogarth was running out of breath. The Iron Man scooped him up and kept on running. They looked for any escape. It seemed the planet was a barren wasteland with nothing in it apart from rocky land. They kept on running but then Hogarth spotted something.  A cave-like structure, it seemed too small for the space-bat angel. “In there!” Hogarth shouted at The Iron Man. The Iron Man followed Hogarth’s gaze and saw the cave. He saw no other way to not be destroyed.

With a mighty leap, The Iron man was in the cave. He settled Hogarth onto the floor and looked back. There was no exit. Where they had entered from was now a solid wall. They both saw no way out but to keep on walking through the cave. Not long after they found a sign and a narrow column. The sign simply read THE MAZE. They walked into the maze and found it very dangerous. There was a section where they were almost dropped in lava. Where they were almost squished by the walls.

After several hours in the maze, Hogarth and The Iron Man were still determined to find the way out. In the next trap, they weren’t as fortunate. A spear flew right out of the wall and pierced The Iron Man’s stomach. There was a sickly groan and he crumpled to the floor. Hogarth rushed towards The Iron Man in horror. Where the Iron Man had fallen, next to him were letters carved into stones, “Your pain has only begun. There will be 9 more challenges after the maze. If you complete all of them without perishing you will be free to go back to your planet.”

Hogarth couldn’t comprehend this. How was he going to do these challenges? More importantly, how was he going to heal the Iron Man? He tried everything but nothing seemed to work. He pinched himself hoping it was a dream that was like the so many other ones he had but it was reality. This was certainly going to be the worst part of Hogarth’s life…

Chapter 9 (by Zile)

BOOM BOOM!!!!! Massive nuclear arsenals bombarded the territory as debris was gun-fired out of the core of the supernatural and celestial object. Hogarth was still quite an overthinker even though the whole planet had been blown up by the helpful earthling on his own planet.

The Iron man perpetuated to drift like flotsam in complete darkness until the gradual ride finally came to a sudden halt as if landing right on earth. The Iron Man twisted his arm; rich soil surrounded them. He became more conscious and moved his leg; well-grown plants swept them spotless.

Wait a minute… has he actually landed back on Earth? Has he finally accomplished his one and only dream? Invigorated by this, The Iron Man let out a yelp, shot up, and stared up at the sky, waiting for Hogarth to fall with him.

But no; the moment The Iron Man had expected never came, not even after a whole hour. Just then The Iron Man spotted – just in the corner of his eye – a few severed limbs and a torso lumbering towards the surface.

The Iron Man thought they belonged to Hogarth and that opinion helped him to reach his state of immense fear, pain, and panic…

Chapter 10 (Taiwan)

He watched in horror as the parts of the body fell from the sky whilst the space-bat-angel cackled with malice. The Iron Man stared with hatred at the alien but he continued to laugh. Although the aliens were meant to be peaceful and content, this one was much like the angel before. He was surrounded by evil thoughts, trying to force or manipulate others to do his bidding.

“Why did you do this?” The Iron Man asked. Yet again, the alien threw back his head and laughed, seeming not to care about his anger.

“Hogarth is not dead but in the land between. I created that maze. This is your challenge to rescue your little friend from this land and bring him back here. Once you do that, you can move one to the next challenge,” the space-bat-angel boomed. The Iron Man at once walked off to find his friends but almost as soon as he started, he realized he did not know how to go to that land. The Iron Man did not was to ask the space-bat-angel however, the was no other way so he asked begrudgingly:

“How do I get to this limbo world?” The space-bat-angel shook his head and told him that he had to find out himself. Infuriated that the angel would not speak standard English, he stormed off again thinking of possibilities to transfer himself to that such land. First, he thought of suicide but he brushed that thought off as it was too risky and he might automatically die without seeing Hogarth at all.

Meanwhile, Hogarth did not know what was happening. He was first falling from the sky and then transferred to a totally different place completely white and desolate. This reminded him much of what it was like in the illusion. He felt very dreamy and was seriously tired and kind of bored so he did what he did last time and envisioned himself in the illusion but it did not work. He felt this was strange and tried again. But to no avail. He began to panic I can think of anything else so he sat down to try some guesswork. This lasted an entire two seconds before he felt bored and got up again, pacing around muttering to himself.

The Iron Man was having similar luck as Hogarth as he still had no leads despite pestering the space-bat-angel so much he flew away- back to his star or wherever he belonged. He cried out in annoyance. How was he supposed to find Hogarth when he had nothing? Just then he saw something out of the corner of his eye. A note. He read it but the piece of paper was gibberish as far as he could tell so he stashed it in a bag he picked from the floor and walked towards the sunset. From above, the bat-angel watched both contestants struggle with their tasks and smiled but far away, the bat-angel did not realize a storm was brewing ahead.

Chapter 11 by Maximilian

The Iron Man was not having any luck at all in interpreting the letter. It was just a load of random letters and some keys. It looked like this:

GyefdffgvuygrufrihyyyaiaahhuyxhdhvOsigfdgygduadijiguxuuuhiyhahysahgfhgyigugunuhgfaasygyufhuessfugnleahfgxygansfisgjihfnfsxdguyuafituidgfuisgifrgaafganufxhiufguxgsfauuvfsvjugnyuTadoighhygsvnygnsOsigevrfiiugungdihgfashgtefjyssnuagtsjuryayghygyafggeyiysggfisyayianhishgyhugjafhvshddjyuuffhsgxrfevuxndyirfuhffniviyggfdghgiyyuesaiuyaifhfnygigfdxigjugshxhufesafgsjirehghuduiyuuadageiufxfsffxsfrfuyyfsuadgsuihsiTgfyfaixiuadfggiafxyayvaugjsxdmuaahiuiigxyyyufihufynidfriyfguiuffffvjiuiuiisriidusfaifiyusxvuudhhdhanuagiunyggessvxnuahtxuhdfxsggfguirffhvhginfajguvsuyyegifjvgaguInrjegiafujddhxhdsegsuuyhrfrygyituviuydifyiuayuvafHiufuhyyugjugidiggodreyyoaisoshdnjixsyufdhhyflrsufghsihguhdiyuraEsehsyidiiunuyirgiusgyxfeidduhdfyuxfyiifsasyguugsufiuguIgghgisdasuxfhxfhfirrfushihiuCifieaajyuguaafasuufhgyhghgfliuufniauiasgshghrsysiyahudgvguuhgygjggnuruffifgaughiijiuusdugsdduhsgjvaufyuysunifegfjuhahrciOuugaugygighdsnLuyydeeIdjusseigejafiunugxagacufnjushauuhhuagxaiiarfvfguiuaSilfghygfuiuauuuuEdfgygiuuUauduLujyjgsjrafsuuduuhugufiysivissuigivrrfiyanfuedgaguesfddhnyuyufyvvxhriauguususfugriiuixxygausadsunyngMsufjgsdIuaisuugxsyynyhNigegfgdednhyyfyugashfaaIfgsyidnhifxgiirhvufdsTrdaxefdgugyeiiAdguajrxiuffLfufavdngsjgsiYianauahfhuhaughhfaghrxauaiayigughiuufuaggh

The Iron Man scratched his head and realized something. Some letters were capitalized. He decided to put the capital letters in order next to each other. When he put it together it read GOTOTHECOLISEUMINITALY. Then he saw the x on the bottom of the letter. He pondered them for a moment and then he put spaces between the capital letters with the length of the xs. It read GO TO THE COLISEUM IN ITALY. Finally, The Iron Man understood what he had to do.

After a long and arduous journey. The Iron Man arrived at the coliseum in Italy. He seemed to be unnoticed by the security guards as he walked through the gates. Once he was inside, it was really obvious what he was looking for. Hogarth suspended 20 meters in the air, was in an unconscious state. The Iron Man could barely reach him but the second he touched Hogarth gravity took hold and he fell back down onto the earth. The Iron Man was delighted to see his friend but Hogarth was looking worse and worse every second.

You might ask yourself, “What happened to Hogarth while The Iron Man was getting to Italy?” When we first heard about him, Hogarth was in a very white somewhere trying to figure out how to get out. After pacing for five minutes, he still had no idea what to do. He thought the only thing he could do was sleep. He couldn’t sleep though. Minutes became hours, hours became days, days became weeks. He was starving, thirsty, and was clutching to life. Then he became unconscious and felt being sucked back into the real world.

The Iron Man was becoming more desperate as Hogarth was breathing slower and slower. He didn’t know what to do. He rushed over to a local hospital. They took Hogarth without even questioning The Iron Man. After several hours, Hogarth was back and looking healthier than ever. He was about to say something when the whole world shimmered. They were back in the large cave with the maze behind them. A sign in front of them read. “It was all just a simulation; your next challenge is to play some dodgeball against a genetically enhanced octopus but if you are hit you die.” The two were paralyzed with mixed emotions. Was all the pain they had just suffered was nothing? How hard was the dodgeball game going to be? Why were these aliens so brutal? Despite these unanswered questions, they both knew the only way they were going to get out alive would be to finish all these lethal challenges.

________________________________________________________________________________________________

Cháptér 12 (by Zilé)

“We shall let the game begin!”

The couple was petrified. Only one chance to survive this deadly game? Only one? Absolutely IMPOSSIBLE! Before they knew it, a razor-sharp bullet, nothing like a dodge ball, stabbed the Iron Man directly at the right leg as uncomfortably encouraged him to let a shockwave of pain permeate his entire body of his. Hogarth was horrified to the spot while frantically trying to dodge the incoming superterrestrial arsenals. Hogarth was starting to transform into his ruthless self, fighting for survival as he retaliated the last hundred attacks to end this nightmarish battle of 1v456. A hallway appeared in front of him, leading to a small room, no bigger than an average kitchen. It seemed safe enough to rest in so Hogarth decided to settle for the night but as soon as he entered it, the entrance vanished. “You have 2½ minutes to escape the room. If you do not succeed within that time, you will instantly be killed.”

Hogarth rapidly summoned up his strength and threw himself onto where the entrance once was. “2 mins” This time he tried to throw sticks of dynamite but that didn’t work as the wall was made out of solid obsidian. “1 min” Hogarth farted an almighty fart and the wall exploded due to the stink. “My fart is the BEST!” Hogarth stated. luckily for him, he had some baked beans for breakfast (no wonder his fart was so powerful!) The next challenge was to do a rap battle against the most experienced alien in the universe. It was hard, it was daring, but Hogarth however, was willing to take his chances. “3, 2, 1, GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO”

“You cannot even use your own imagination which is why you do not have your own big nation”

“Bruh aliens are ugly with economies low and bite their own head or suck their own toes”

“Wait what did you say with your mouth so brown,  just like poo and yo such a bad footballer cos yo always foul”

“So I know ur a terrible gladiator but, you know ur friend and ur wife? well I’m glad he ate her”

(Words in bold are said by the alien and the words in italics are said by Hogarth) In the end, well for Hogarth, it was a staggering victory.

________________________________________________________________________________________________

Chapter 13 (Taiwan)

After the battle (it was needless to say that Hogarth had a little too much fun rapping) he excitedly rejoiced with the Iron Man though he did not respond. He assumed it was because the Iron Man was a robot, but other strange things started happening too. For starters, he was twitching unexpectantly like some sort of dance and his eyes were flickering, just like what happened with the angel dragon. He seemed to be heating up in front of Hogarth’s eyes, but he was petrified.

“What was happening?” thought Hogarth. The Iron Man’s leg was sparking on the place that was hit but it had been stuck for quite some time and it was only at that moment that he sparked out. Why had that happened? The answer quickly became obvious when a chameleon appeared from his hiding spot with a bottle of some sort so instantly, Hogarth bolted to the animal only for it to disappear again, leaving no trace.

“No fair!” he cried and scoured the room for signs. Just out the corner of his eye, however, was another chameleon. This one had something different from the first one though. He had a bottle of oxygen in it. Hogarth saw no point in chasing this one, but he did after he saw what it was doing. He was rusting and there was nothing he could do about it. He did not realize how quickly the Iron Man was rusting and he was turning redder by the second! He had to do something but without any ideas, chased both chameleons around.

________________________________________________________________________________________________

Chapter 14 by Maximilian

As Hogarth hopelessly tried to catch the chameleons, he noticed something. There was a small note tied onto the bottom of one chameleon. With one great leap, Hogarth buried the chameleon under his body. He made a quick grab for it and untied the note. It said, “The second you read this note you will have 24 hours to obtain an antidote for your beast of a friend The Iron Man. Your first clue is to find the answer to this riddle. I’m tall when I’m young, and I’m short when I’m old. What am I?” – Space-bat angel.

Hogarth pondered the possible answers to this riddle. He could only think of one answer and that could only be a candle. He observed the room and saw a candle on a handle. He walked over to it and looked at the candle. There was nothing on it. He was confused and searched the area around it for several hours. Then, by sheer luck, he accidentally pushed the handle where the candle was held. A huge section was revealed in the wall. Hogarth was shocked but he knew that his time was running out. He ran at full force into the space and down a series of stairs. At the Hogarth saw the antidote but it was far on the other side of the room. Between them was a huge chasm falling into the endless void. Hogarth gulped. How would he get to the other side?

Suddenly floating rocks started moving around. They were just large enough for Hogarth to stand on. Cautiously, He put one leg onto a floating piece of moving rock. It seemed to hold his weight. Hogarth quickly jumped on the rock and jumped to the next one but at the last jump, the ledge the antidote was on crumbled. Without thinking, Hogarth dived into the chasm…

Chapter 15 (by Zile)

Suddenly, Hogarth landed on an object that looked like a giant hand with its thumb sticking up. Hogarth was relieved that he did not fall into the void but the thumb that was sticking out was so disturbing that Hogarth ate it.

“YYYUUUUUUUUCCCCCKKKK!” It did not taste pleasant. The ‘now 4-fingered hand thing’ carried Hogarth to the other side with the Iron Man and the antidote laying on the floor. The Iron ate it and woke up just to see Hogarth looking at him as a complete pea-brain so he said,” What’s soup boi, Y yo looking at me like a pig?”

The next challenge was to play football with the alien version of Pelé. Actor, the best footballer of all time. “SIUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!” screamed Hogarth. Just that moment… “kick, kick kick, kick k ickkick kick kic kkick, kicky kicky kick.” The game had begun earlier than he had anticipated which lead to 9-2 to the aliens in 4 mins. In that moment of almost failure, Hogarth ate some of the opponents and in the end, the score was 3487236-587549347!

The next challenge is to see who pops out the most. “Are you ready? Then let’s GOGOGO!”

________________________________________________________________________________________________

Chapter 16

Hogarth was disgusted by this challenge as he had never even had the thought in his head and was not ready for the competition at all. In a panic, he tried to run but was held in place by an invisible force, pinned to the toilet.

“This is disgusting!” he cried. Desperately, he looked around for the Iron Man, but he was nowhere to be seen. Eventually, Hogarth decided to embrace it but regretted his decision immediately. All around him he heard squelching and he turned a spinach-like green. Suddenly, an announcement came in.

STOP THE COMPETITION,” shouted the spokesperson. “WE HAVE AN ISSUE. ONE OF OUR CONTESTANTS HAS, QUITE LITERALLY, POOPED HIS GUTS OUT. THERE WILL BE MEDICS ENTERING THE ARENA AND THE ROUND WILL HAVE TO STOP.” Immediately, there was an angry muttering in the crowd, and everyone started shouting. This was deemed no use to them so eventually, they stopped.

“What a stroke of luck,” thought Hogarth. This, in fact, was quite a stroke of luck but not in the way Hogarth might have expected. In fact, no one expected this to happen. As the medics rushed into the arena, Hogarth returned his train of thought towards where the Iron Man had been. He looked all around for his friend but saw nothing until he looked in the top box. There the Iron Man was, struggling to take hold of the spokesperson, and wrenched out the microphone again.

“Attention ladies and gentlemen,” he boomed. “There have been a few complications and the top box has been prohibited until further notice.”

“He’s good at this,” Hogarth thought, usually seeing him as a figure of actions, not words. In fact, it had been the Iron Man who had said the first announcement as well. The medics had also been faking and no one was injured. They were just audience members bribed to kidnap a random competitor. Now, they started taking all the contestants away apart from on and that, of course, was Hogarth.

“Attention all remaining members of the audience. All our competitors have been taken apart from one so therefore, he is obliged to win, so may I present this year’s winner, Hogarth!” nobody cheered.

Chapter 17 (by Zile)

“WHY THE HELL DID YOU NOT CLAP FOR ME YOU DUMPLING DUMBOS!!!!!” exclaimed Hogarth, shouting across the arena. Someone replied, “‘Because ur plump like my BEENZ!” Hogarth didn’t like that comment at all so he decided to impress the audience by dabbing. ‘DAB DAB DAB DAB DAB DAB DAB DAB!’ went Hogarth, ‘DAB DAB DAB DAB DAB DAB DAB!’ he did this until his arms fell off but that was when he ate them and grew them back.

The next challenge was to say some strange words in the correct timing and order.

“3, 2, 1, Go!”

“7937583→}/z÷×–=–┽∾”

Hogarth had no idea how to pronounce those symbols so he took a guess:

“Umm… is it: Seven nine three seven five eight three right-arrow monster-bracket slash zed divide times minus equals double dash minus vertical line hyphen worm? Luckily he got it correct with some others but the rest just said “Farty Face” or “Poopsicle”; Strange words! The following challenge requires some skill because it was a geography test. “That’s quite normal…” Hogarth stated in surprise. “However, I am absolutely TRASH at this subject. I hope it is easy.”

The Iron Man and Hogarth had to name nations from WW2 in Europe.

“What is this country called?”

“Nazi Germany” both of them called out which was lucky as it lead to victory.

The next challenge = survive the attack from Nazi Germany…

Chapter 18 by Maximilian

A swirl lifted them off their feet and their eyesight became a blur. Suddenly, they were standing in a huge city at night where there was absolutely no light. Hogarth had sinking feeling. He knew where they were. This was London, somewhere between 7 September 1940 – 11 May 1941. They were going to have to survive a consistent bombing and shelling of England. The blitz. Before any of the two could react, a screeching siren cut through the air, signifying an air raid was about to start. As if they appeared out of nowhere people started streaming out from all kinds of different places to the nearest shelter.

The blackout was hard to see where they were supposed to go but they were being pushed in the right direction anyway. Once Hogarth was inside, he turned to his iron friend who no one seemed to notice. There was a big problem and The Iron Man would never fit in the shelter. Hogarth suggested that The Iron Man hides in an alley but soon a bomb lit up the world with a huge KABOOM. Hogarth was knocked from his feet his skull was throbbing and it felt like acid was going through his body. His muscles seemed to not work and once he felt like he couldn’t take any more pain he passed out. Once he woke up he was in a hospital, his memory was fuzzy and he could see a nurse standing next to him. She let out a sigh of relief.

Hogarth looked at the nurse’s name tag. Her name was nurse Spencer. Hogarth looked at nurse Spencer and asked, “Where am I?” Nurse Spencer replied, “St Thomas Hospital, you’re a lucky one to survive a bomb.” Hogarth said, “How did I get here?” “You were picked up by one of the ambulances scanning the city.” Nurse Spencer responded, “Hush now, you need rest I will come back with some nice tea for you.” As she left, Hogarth still felt unable to move and then had a sudden jolt and an image flashed into his brain. Nurse Spencer came back, without tea, she said softly, “You are not as lucky I thought you were.” Hogarth had a cold feeling. Nurse spencer carried on, “Reports are saying that a huge metal robot that was destroyed during last night’s bombing had said he will always remember you and to finish the challenges for him.” Hogarth’s brain was having trouble comprehending this, once he realized what this meant he started crying uncontrollably. A river of tears came streaming down his cheeks.

Was the Iron Man really gone? Suddenly, he was lifted off his feet and was transported back to the alien planet. An announcer’s voice boomed through the arena and said, “You have survived a night during the blitz, you have got one week to revive your friend from death. Your first clue shall be:

To find the one that was lost
Go to the region of the tossed
Slaughter the flame of destruction
You will free the soul of corruption
A trick that ends in death for the lord of ghosts
But in the end, you will fail to get what matters the most

Your time starts now you are free to do anything you want.”

Hogarth knew that this would be essential to find his friend and he usually wasn’t good at remembering things but this seemed to be carved into his memory. With a clue and no idea where to start Hogarth started to walk aimlessly on his journey to find his friend.

Chapter 19

On and on, Hogarth thought about the riddle. As he expected, he could not remember much but one thing was burned into his mind: his friend was almost dead, and Hogarth was going to save the Iron Man. But how? This dilemma got Hogarth thinking. If hallucinations could be broken with the knowledge, death might be broken with the same thing. All he had to do was find his friend and then the Iron Man could be free! There was one problem though. Even if he somehow stumbled across his friend by chance, how would he relay this information? He remembered being in the line between life and death himself but could not remember his surroundings. Trying to retrace his steps, however, he traveled back to the colosseum to see if the Iron Man was there. To Hogarth’s dismay, his friend was not there. Meanwhile, the Iron Man was having his own problems. He felt like he was overheating and felt a burning sensation all over. At first, he thought nothing about this issue but could not help and notice his finger singeing. Panicking, he tried to put his fingers out by swiping them on other parts of his body but all that did was cause red streaks. Hogarth combed the internet for sightings of the Iron Man searching Snapchat, Facebook, any social media he knew. Eventually, he found a report on a website in Japan claiming that a large robotic being was in the center of Mount Fiji. The news article read:

Metal Man Sighted

Earlier a man-shaped figure was sighted at the core of Mount Fiji which is meditating. What it looks like is unknown baffling scientists with such a humanoid shape. Turn to page 6 to find out more.

“Bingo!” Hogarth cried out in joy. This gave him a strong lead and went to Japan to look for his friend. As he arrived at the scene, hundreds, if not thousands of tourists were already standing there, excitedly trying to catch a glimpse of the scene.

“How am I supposed to get past this crowd?” He asked himself but no sooner had that thought entered his head than a tourist started shouting.

“Look! It is the boy who is friends with the Iron Man!” one of them yelled. Instantly, a horde of people gathered around to ask him questions, but Hogarth was quite an uncomfortable standing in the middle of the crowd. He was not much a public speaker and tried to mostly try to avoid attention.

“I just want to see what is inside the volcano!” Hogarth announced. Muttering started again but eventually; the crowd departed to let him through. Sure enough, once Hogarth arrived at the hotspot, he too could see a strange shape in the heart of the volcano that looked exactly like the Iron Man. A plan was quickly formulated in Hogarth’s mind trying to find a solution to this mess and move on to the next question. Suddenly, Hogarth saw a vision. In it, he saw millions of stars crashing to Earth at lightning speeds intent of killing everything, killing them all…

Chapter 20 by Maximilian

Stunned by what he had just seen Hogarth stumbled and fell to his knees. He must’ve passed out because when he woke up again he was in a hospital room. Idly, he got up and walked out of the hospital without anyone noticing. Striding down the streets, a quick black-figure swooped past him and down an alley. Hogarth thought this was rather peculiar and so he went down the alley.

At the end of the alley was a man with a long katana and a conical hat on his head. It was covering his eyes and face so Hogarth couldn’t see what he looked like. The man tilted his head slightly and said, “I know what you seek.” Hogarth was starting to get nervous but the man told Hogarth to follow him. They sneaked through an underground passage and through an endless maze of corridors.

After hours of walking, they arrived in a room with a blinding light in it. We are under the boundary of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Hogarth was confused but then he realized, “Aren’t they the two cities that were destroyed by nuclear bombs?” The man said, “Yes, and in the jar over there is all the energy harvested from the blast, it can destroy are bring back anything but you will only get to use it once.”

Hogarth gasped, he could get back the Iron Man. Hogarth thanked the man, grabbed the jar, and ran faster than lightning all the way back to mount Fiji. Once Hogarth reached to top he wondered how he would get to the Iron Man. Then, Hogarth’s vision came true. Out of nowhere, a star was falling to the earth. Hogarth suddenly realized it was a meteor and it would probably wipe out the eastern side of civilization. Hogarth was met with a difficult choice. Save the Iron Man or destroy the meteorite? Hogarth looked at the jar for answers but I didn’t do anything. Hogarth questioned himself, “what should I do…?”

Chapter twenty-one (by Zilé)

Hogarth was thinking for such a long time that he didn’t even notice a bomb from The USSR that destroyed the damn meteorite. “SIUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!” he screamed, pretending he was Christiano Ronaldo when he won by ten, nil. Hogarth wanted to save the Iron Man now and it worked. The Iron Man is saved. They immediately teleported back onto that stupid planet.

I was a scientist and worked in Oxford. My hobby was to create planes and rockets and other really cool stuff. That very night, when both the Iron Man and Hogarth went back to the planet, I was exploring using my SVIII through space hoping to find another terrestrial planet. When I arrived at the same purple planet before, I saw the Iron Man and Hogarth staring at me with curiosity. “Who are you?” Hogarth asked me. I simply just replied with a “my name is SUSSYBAKA!”

The next challenge coming up was for Hogarth to be the US, Iron Man the UK, and me, Australia. We need to work together to take over the world, one country each time. Hogarth started a war on Mexico and he won. Invigorated, the Iron Man declared war on France and that also went pretty well. I declared war on New Zealand, New Guinea, Indonesia, all islands of the Pacific, the Philippines, and finally Malaysia and shocked everyone by actually winning the war.

It was time for 3v180, nations

Chapter 22 (by Taiyan)

All around the world, the governments banded together and tried to work out a plan. Larger and richer nations first tried to invade the three countries, but they ran into one big problem- Hogarth, the Iron Man and myself were islands therefore rendering the army useless apart from the United States, but they did not need to worry for they had one of the strongest military forces in the world. ***

“That was amazing!” Hogarth exclaimed. He was trying out a new virtual reality game where he was leader of a certain country and try to take over the world but unfortunately, his time had expired, and he lost. He looked over at the Iron Man but as usual, his friend was silent though it did seem like he enjoyed the game.

After Hogarth rescued the Iron Man, he had just wanted to relax slightly after all the adventuring they had done after all, he had done some exhausting things like free the world but the stranger he was playing with was peculiar. He kept on treating it like the game was real and Hogarth was getting concerned about his wellbeing but he brushed it off after thinking for a bit.

“What do you think we should do today?” Hogarth asked. The Iron Man just shrugged so Hogarth suggested that they go to the park for some fresh air. On their way there they spotted a missing poster which was strange as they had never seen a missing poster before and it read:

Missing

A child has recently reported missing without a trace. Any sign of this boy please immediately contact: 017 5684 3566

There shall be a reward of £1000

“That’s strange,” thought Hogarth. “I’m pretty sure the guy we just played with looked exactly like the picture.” Rushing back home, Hogarth turned on his headset to see if his teammate was still in the game. Sure enough, he was. The time would have most definitely run out as it had been almost two hours and the limit was one. Hogarth hopped into the chat and asked the player how he was still on. No answer. I asked again. No answer. Confused, he left thinking that it was some sort of glitch until the headset pinged. The person had answered and what was more, their icon was moving just like an actual face. Hogarth could have sworn the face was not moving a second ago but here it was, like it was always there. The player’s face displayed complete pain and suffering as though he had been in the war and fighting. Scars of bullet streaks and ashes covered his face just like he was stuck in the game. Hogarth brought the photo back and glanced at it again and it seemed that the boy he was looking at was a couple of years older than the photo. That meant the time was sped up in that universe if the boy was trapped in the game.

Chapter 23 by Maximilian

Hogarth asked in the chat if his name was Thomas like it said on the poster. The person replied yes and then Hogarth asked how did he get inside the game. The boy replied but it was all in strange writing that Hogarth couldn’t understand. Hogarth was confused and told the boy not to play games. The boy said he wasn’t and he typed in his answer to his question but it seemed like something wasn’t letting the message get sent in a readable state. The boy in the game started sniffing and cried. Hogarth wondered how to get the boy out of the game. The text made no sense so he asked the Iron Man if he could understand it. The Iron Man mutely shook his head.

The boy looked like he was about to explode like a hydrogen bomb but then he said, “I was fuelled by hate for my parents so I ran away and hoped I would have some good luck. Instead I found a man who said he could make me live eternally and obliviously I said yes, now I am here.” “Where is this man?” Hogarth said. Thomas replied, “I don’t know where but his longitude and latitude is at 0.17568, 4.3566.” Hogarth wondered, “Isn’t that the same as the phone number?” he decided not to say anything. Hogarth swore to Thomas that he would be freed. Determined, Hogarth set of to 0.17568, 4.3566.

Chapter 24 (by Zilé)

When hotharth went off to that coordinate, He was struck by lightning and was forced to land in the middle of France. “Why do I keep failing?!” Hogarth complained. He heard a stupid voice behind which said “Pourquoi es-tu si gros?” Hogarth knew what it meant so he simply screamed that he was not fat. “Oh no… French dummies” Hogarth was wondering how to get out of France as his plane that had a picture of his girlfriend was damaged. “How will I ever see my gf again?” Hogarth sobbed.

The Iron Man was just playing around on the purple planet with Thomas until Thomas said, “Let’s play Minecraft!” The Iron Man refused the offer as there were no devices here. Hogarth thought hard about how to escape from France, not even noticing that he could’ve just farted out of the borders. Finally, he stole a Ferrari and zoomed off to 0.17, 4.32.

Hogarth was in the middle of Africa, Ghana. Hogarth saw some sort of Ghanian so he said, “Sing me ur best song!” That random dude sang this: Waka Waka (This Time for Africa) – Shakira (Lyrics) 🎵https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zacYmrdexA

Chapter 25 (by Taiyan)

Hogarth was rather stumped by this. The song that he was listening to was one he had heard of and what was more, it was not African! This made Hogarth think that the man was a fraud but when he asked the locals, they all they said that he had been there since before they could remember.

“Strange,” Hogarth thought. Maybe he learnt English. Getting back on track, however, was more difficult than expected. First, Hogarth realised he had been traveling to the wrong coordinates, so he had to put autopilot back on track (he could not fly by himself). Secondly, the Africans, though they were friendly, did not want him to go away. They were fascinated by his plane and wanted to study it but to get out of the mess, he had to offer a lollipop to each of them which he had packed as a snack. On his way, Hogarth realised that in all the fuss that he forgot where the Iron Man went. He shrugged off the thought though and put his main priority as Thomas. Eventually, he arrived at the set of coordinates, but no-one was there. He typed in the chat to check they were still at the coordinates, and they said yes. Just then, Hogarth had a crazy idea. They might have been on another planet as Thomas (along with the Iron Man) described the place they were at as purple which was strange- the game developers said nothing about this new planet.

“It must be an update,” Hogarth muttered to himself thinking upon how to get to this strange planet. Maybe there was a rocket, maybe there was a teleportation pad, maybe there was a portal he could go through but there was just one problem. He did not know what he was looking for and where to look and the only way he could comb over the entire world was for him to take over things and not just interact with robots. Although this was a new game, some glitches have already been found being such a good and popular game. He remembered how to revive himself and did so interacting with other robots in the game to get different accessories. Eventually, he revived himself and started world domination again. This time he chose India as they were quite rich with many troops and bombs. Firstly, he made alliances with the stronger countries and had no choice but to nuke the ones that disagreed with world domination. Next, he marched many troops into mediocre countries and finally, the smaller countries were forced to surrender. Finally, he had full world domination. Now, he could focus on finding a way to get to the purple planet. Days and days on end Hogarth sent search parties all over the world and even asked some of the best technicians to design rockets to fly to such a distance but all the plans failed until one day, a strange meteorite hit the Earth.

  1. Writer1 says:

The Iron Man waited for ages. Water poured down, sand chewed at his metal.

Once he woke up, he was in a disassembled state, his arms and legs were on one side of a huge workshop and wires sprouted into his head.

In the coffin was a robot like him.
