ParticipantIt was a dark and stormy night, and Hamlet’s father died recently. Hamlet’s father’s ghost said that Claudius, Hamlet’s uncle, killed him by pouring poison into his ear. From that night on, Hamlet started to act mad, and he would not talk to anyone except Horonto. Polonius sends Ophelia to Hamlet, and Hamlet makes Ophelia sad. Hamlet told the actors to change the play. Claudius was watching the play. There was a part where the actors act like Claudius pouring poison in Hamlet’s father’s ears. Claudius ran away, and Hamlet’s mother went to follow him, but Hamlet blocked her from going.

ParticipantI think that this play is not tragic, because everyone is very happy at the end. Caliban became the king of the island. Ariel was free and very happy. Prospero and Alonso joined together to be the king of Naples. Prince Ferdinard and Miranda got married because they loved each other. Everyone was very happy at the end of the story. At the beginning of the story Caliban was enslaved by Prospero, but at the end he was very happy. That is why I think that this play is not a tragic play.

ParticipantDiary of Caliban:
Ugh, today is a very bad day. I was so sleepy today, so I did not bring wood or water to Prospero. Prospero was very mad at me when he saw me. He thought I was his servant. Prospero threaten to bring the spirits to torture me again! I should be the king of this island. My mom, Sycorax was the queen of this island. Prospero stole my mom’s books of magic and freed her slave spirits.I told Prospero I will get revenge one day! I will be king of the island and take Miranda as my queen. Propero was raging, and he sent flying needles at me. That hurt so much that it felt like someone was eating me. I can’t even stand up. Finally Prospero took off his spirits. I quickly ran away and went to spy on the mountain.

ParticipantI am going to tell you the amazing story about Julius Caesar. Julius Caesar was an honorable man, and he led the Romans to victory. Everyone is happy except two. Brutus and Cassis thought that Caesar would be a very cruel king. Then, an old man came and told Caesar to be aware of the Ides of March. At night, Cassius and Brutus called Metellus and Dessius to make the plan. The next day, they killed Caesar and Mark Antony made a speech why they killed Caesar. The crowd was very angry, and the conspirators escaped. Brutus and Cassis formed an army, and they fought against Mark Antony and Octavius. At the end, Brutus died.

ParticipantThis is my prediction of what will happen next. Caesar would go to the Senate, and before he got in the building Cassius killed Julius. Then, the crowd would get mad at Cassius, but Cassius gave a speech to tell them why he killed Caesar. The crowd would not trust Cassius and kill Cassius. After watching the crowd finish killing Cassius, Brutus and Dessius run away to hide from the Romans, trying to find a way to get revenge. Another person would rule Rome. That is what I think will happen next, because the conspirators wanted to kill Caesar. They think that Caesar will get too much power.

ParticipantMy favorite part of the story is when Tybalt is fighting with Romeo, because there were a lot of actions going on. For example, Tybalt took out his dagger and Romeo held Tybalt’s hand for him not to kill Romeo. Then, Romeo and Tybalt tumbled to the ground. When they fell, Tybalt pointed the dagger toward himself and killed himself. The second reason why I like this part is because it shows that Romeo cares about all his friends. His friend Mercutio fought to protect Romeo, but Tybalt killed Mercutio and he died. Then, Romeo fought back for revenge because Tybalt killed his friend. The last reason why I like this part is because it shows that Romeo is a great fighter not just a normal person.

ParticipantIn the Capulet house, there was a party. During the party, Romeo fell in love with Juliet, and they got married the next day. Juliet’s cousin, Tybalt, didn’t want Romeo to go to the party, so he wanted revenge. Tybalt killed Mercutio and Romeo was enraged, so he tried to fight back.
