Wow! You guys really bounced back. I feel very proud and impressed this week. This was easily the highest standard of work that has been produced, I see many excellent creative writers developing. Because of this high standard, scores that previously would have easily made the Top 5 haven’t, but don’t let this be a discouragement. Well done all!

Hi everyone. This was a tough week. I marked your work very closely to the mark scheme and so generally it is a little harsher than normal, so don’t worry if you got a lower mark, most people fell in the 8-12/20 range. Sorry for my illness in the previous session, it ended up being Covid but am all fresh again for this week, looking forward to teaching you tomorrow. As this was a multiple choice and there is no way for me to differentiate quality between people who got the same mark, there are 6 people at the top this week: DZ, Jin, Emily Huang, James Z, Siyang, Julia – well done everyone! This was a tricky comprehension and we will cover some of the harder questions tomorrow.

Poetry is probably my favourite week to mark. I love to see people really take it seriously, give it their all, and come out with some really incredible, unexpected stuff. I tend to mark it a little harsher than other forms of creative writing. That being said, here are the Top 5 for this week: Simon, Xiran, DZ, Bai An, Jin
