ParticipantDear Beth,
Here is my homework for this week. I hope you enjoy it and have a good day!
I think that the title is “To Kill a Mockingbird” because a mockingbird can represent joy and happiness, but if you kill that mockingbird, it will represent sadness. In the book, there is a very horrible thing that happened, which is that an innocent person was killed because of racism. If I were the author, the title of this book would be “The Story of Sorrow” because of all the unfortunate things that happened in it.

ParticipantDear Beth,
I hope you enjoy my homework and have a great week! Here it is:
The man is described as being very rude, despicable and disrespectful, as in the text, he says things such as ‘Hold your noise’ and ‘I’ll cut your throat’. That means that the man is attacking Pip and shouting at him loudly. The writer also uses repetition to show exactly how frightening he seems to Pip.

ParticipantDear Beth,
Here is my homework for this week. I hope you enjoy it!
My dystopia is based on the Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur. After Theseus killed the Minotaur and went back to Greece, the Minotaur’s ghost escaped the Labyrinth and followed him. The Minotaur started to haunt the homes of the people who lived there. Then the population began to shrink as more and more people left the city. In the end, the ghost went to Theseus’ home. When Theseus realised that the Minotaur had come, he went to search for it. Ultimately, he finds the ghost and manages to trap it in a jar. The citizens of Athens then come back, and Theseus becomes even famous than he already is, and they all live happily ever after. The End.
See you next week, and I hope you liked my story!

ParticipantDear Beth,
Here is my homework for this lesson. I hope you enjoy it! Here it is:
I think that the metaphor “path painted thick with fallen petals” means sadness, darkness and death. This is because healthy flowers usually represent happiness and life, so dead flowers with fallen petals would symbolise the opposite of that. Also, this is alliteration of the letter “p”, which makes the metaphor seem more important by emphasising it.
See you next week and have a great day!

ParticipantDear Beth,
Here is my homework for this week:
The role of wealth in The Hobbit is that it makes Bilbo, the dwarves and Gandalf go on the big adventure and get the treasure from Smaug. Also, the novel seems to say that Bilbo’s viewpoint is right because he was the one who fought the evil characters, like the goblins and wolves.
See you next week, and I hope you’ll enjoy my homework!
Kind Regards,

I think “the sudden rush of fortune” makes you feel like water is valuable, almost like diamonds popping up from the ground or winning the lottery on your first try, changing your life in just one sudden moment.

ParticipantDear Beth,
Here is my homework for this week:
I feel of Crabby as a very cruel and unkind person because the text says that she “coiled, uncoiled and sprang”. This shows that she is behaving in a very snaky way which makes she seem like a dangerous person that attacks others.I hope you enjoy it!
Kind Regards,
Karl
