Dear Beth,
Here’s my homework. Sorry for the nearly late reply. If there are any gaps in the story, then you’ll have to fill in the holes yourself.( Nothing stolen from Louis Sachar. 😁)
Thanks
James
Fate
Hmmm… what should I do today? Played a few board games against myself, played every other game there is to play, made up a few games, played them too, abused my power a few times, messed up a few people’s lives. Yeah! That’s what I’ll do! I’ll mess up someone’s life. But, this time, I will make it something to remember…
Draco had a great destiny to fulfill, his mum had dipped him in water and read the ripples of his fate. It wasn’t good, but it had a very happy ending. It wasn’t clear though, everything kept on changing. This only meant one thing, someone would intervene with it. Draco’s mother was known for being able to tell someone’s fate by dropping him or her in water. She was said to have been given the power by the gods. Some think she is a goddess, others think she’s a fraud. Draco’s name meant dragon in Latin, because dragon’s were strong and legendary. His dad had given him the name, but his identity remained unknown.
Now then, where should we start. Oh, I know!
One day, Draco was having another unsuccessful attempt of trying to find out who his father was, when he was struck by lightning. The thunderstorm was so sudden it lasted for less than a nanosecond. Somehow, he survived. His mother was a normal human, so his father must have been someone( or something) really tough to withstand that blast. In fact, Draco wasn’t really healthy. Anyone as healthy as him could be killed by someone dropping a 2kg weight on his legs when he was sleeping. It was either his dad was super tough, or his mother really was a goddess.
The next day, there was a strong wind and several trees fell on top of him. It was probably just a coincidence. Another time, he was at the shore when a whale shark was beached and bit him on the leg. The day after that, he was hit a small meteorite in his garden. Another day, he was out exploring some bright green fields, so large that you could fit a giant meteor in them. Some aliens must’ve decided to try this because a giant meteor soon hit Draco on the head. Strangely, it bounced off his head and would’ve hit the sun if it wasn’t so hot. His mother was getting suspicious. Someone or something would intervene with his fate. This was probably it happening right now. It can’t be a coincidence. His dad must’ve had concrete skin, otherwise he wouldn’t have miraculously survived. His mother on the other hand, had soft fleshy skin, like a normal person.
******** How’d he survive that! Oh well, that just means that I can have some more playtime. Let’s see, what should I do now…?
Now, Draco had a few hints on who his dad was. God, the devil, an alien etc. When Draco was swimming in the ocean, a giant tidal wave appeared from nowhere and forced his back on some sharp rocks. His mother had the bones checked by doctors. Whilst, they were checking, they noticed something strange, his shoulder blades were about an inch or two long. An awful lot longer than usual. Some bits were going a dark red, not the red of where you might have when you accidentally hit your elbow on the wall and it went bright red. What’s more, surprisingly, nothing was broken, at all! This was probably another hint about who his dad was.
It’s about time I have some real fun. This boy’s in for some torture…
Shortly after the hospital incident, his mother disappeared. By her bed, lay a letter:
Dear Draco,
Sorry for the shock, but I have taken your mother as I need to tell her something.
Yours apologetically,
Falkor the Red, your father
Now he knew who his father was! But, WHAT was he? He thought about his long shoulder blades and how he had survived all the things that had happened to him. By now, his shoulder blades had little claws on the end and had gone all scaly. Like a dragon he realized. Falkor the Red was a very dragony( made-up-word alert!) name. It would also explain why he was called Draco, for a wimpy little boy, like Draco, dragon wasn’t really a fitting name. Dragons were supposed to be strong and legendary. Draco on the other hand, was a pathetic, little boy.
Uh oh, they know…
That afternoon, Draco’s mother suddenly appeared in the living. Sticky with sweat and shock, she told Draco that his dad wanted to meet him tonight. At this, Draco felt really excited, he was going to meet his dad for the first time! He was going hyper until a thought came into his head, would he like me? Would he be proud of me? Would he apologize for not being able to see me sooner? That night, Draco arrived in the garden feeling a little( read unlimitedly) drowsy. It was 11:58pm, his dad had promised to meet them at precisely midnight. When Draco was just about asleep, he heard the flapping of wings. Falkor landed and simply said one thing, “it’s about time Adrienne met her end.”
No, I’m loosing control! How!?! They want to kill me! No one decides my fate though, I am fate! But- Here they come! They don’t look happy! Uh oh…
SLICE!
