Monty has a strong relationship with Penelope. Though after a while the relationship started crumbling like going to Bedlam Hospital. It got slightly better when Monty was investigating the hospital and being brave while Penelope was scared. After that was just downhill. like when Penelope asked Monty for help and he refused and asked lady Cambridge for instead. Their relationship just has cracks one after another. There was times when they filled up the holes but it was not enough. This tells up this is either a earlier relationship or a relationship that was the best. By the end of the book the parters kinda just end their relationship and just starting helping this and that. It is funny Penelope is much more scared and is younger while Monty is brave more skilled handles things well but some how she has most of the power and is the leader of the them.
