      Summary for Lesson 1

In today’s lesson we began our writing course, focusing on our first author: J K Rowling. We began by talking about what makes her such a famous writer before looking at the genre of fantasy and what it entails. We thought about how Rowling takes the ordinary and makes it fantastical and the class came up with ideas of their own about how to do this in their creative writing, which were super inventive and wonderful. We thought about Voldemort as a villain and read a passage from Harry Potter before the class came up with characters inspired by Rowling’s writing. Amazing work everyone, you were really fabulous today and it was a joy to see you all. Well done and see you next week 🙂

      Hi Beth,

      This is my homework.

      The hard times

Last night, there was bombs dropping down, little Kate was afraid of the sound of the bombs dropping down, the sound of it dropping down is like they exploded. There was Michale bacton’s team, they through every single bomb they have and even decided to explode all of the bombs at the same time and ruin the country. The bombs weren’t like normal ones, they were huge, every time you explode one bomb, it destroys ten metres all the way around it,( it  also kills the people who are around it).  Little Kate didn’t know what to do, but she knows magic, she only just started learning magic so she’s not that good at it, the best thing she knows how to do is to shapeshift into different animals, so she was trying to thing of very fast animals so she quickly thought of a cheetah because there could be a bomb exploding in any time. Kate knows that she is not allowed to use magic outside school but in this situation, she has to ignore that rule. She turned into a cheetah and ran out of her house, there was an alarm to remind people that the bombs could explode in any time now. Suddenly Kate thought of a new and better idea, if she shapeshifted into a bird, she won’t be touched at all, so she turned into a bird and flew away as fast as she can until she makes sure that she is high enough to be safe from the bombs. After a few seconds, all of the bombs exploded, it felt sad seeing everybody die at the same time but at least it wasn’t her. The next day, Kate was ready for school, but she wasn’t sure if everybody just died or not, she got to school and there was just some people that died, others like her friends, her teachers and everyones pets, these we’re all alive so she felt sooooo happy, it’s like she wouldn’t be any happier in her life.

      Have a nice week.

      Summary for Lesson 2

In today’s class we completed our work on J K Rowling, thinking today about how to take her setting and use it as inspiration for our own stories. We began by learning some tips from her about writing before thinking about Hogwarts as a setting and the class created their own schools that teach a special skill such as witchcraft, with their own rules and descriptions of what it looks like. They created some brilliant characters and wrote some fab character profiles and finally they came up with pseudonyms they could write under. Amazing work today everyone, well done for all your hard work and creative contributions. See you next week 🙂

Sorry everyone my text summary didn’t post- here we go:

In today’s lesson we began work on our second author, Roald Dahl. We began by learning a little about his life and the works he is famous for, before thinking about what makes his writing unique. We read a famous poem of his and the class then wrote their own versions based on Dahl’s which were super creative and wonderful to hear. We discussed the kinds of stories he likes to tell, things such as the made-up language he creates and his focus on dark and funny themes. Finally we learned about magical realism and thought about the difference between this and fantasy- amazing work today everyone, well done for all your brilliant ideas. See you next time 🙂

      Summary for Lesson 3

In today’s class we completed our work on Roald Dahl, thinking about his use of magic and language. We began by learning one of his stories and coming up with magical skills characters might develop in response, before thinking of some Roald Dahl language the class could invent. The students completed a hot-seating exercise brilliantly, thinking about what they might want to learn from Roald Dahl and with several students then acting as him in an interview. Finally we read a passage from The Twits and the class wrote some amazing inspired stories based on the ideas explored in Dahl’s novel. Creative and energetic work today class, really well done and keep up the amazing ideas. See you next week 🙂

Hi Beth, here is my homework for lesson 4. Have a great week. Thx

My character is called Piggy Willy. She is a important fairy because she was the Queens daughter (Princess)
she had jade green and black hair, sky blue eyes and blazing red lips.

Every night, the Princess would sneak out of her window while the King and Queen were sleeping. She would fly using this address: kik may 5. At this address lived Piggy Willy’s BFF, Maxy Taxy. Maxy Taxy was very funny and kind but sadly, he was death. Piggy Willy would use fairy sign language to communicate with him. Then one day, something devistating happened! The sun was shining , the trees were smiling but SUDDENLY there was a big THUMP! And then poisonious gas came out of nowhere!

Everyone was panicking and running but Piggy Willy and Maxy Taxy were not. They had a plan. A BIG plan. And could you guess what that plan is ? Well I”ll tell you now…

Piggy Willy flyed hurrily to the amour shop and gathered some gas proof amour and gasmasks. They put them on and managed to suvirve the whole cahos. After the big gas swoop, the whole FairyTown was crumbled to bits but Maxy Taxy said “Lets be grateful we’re still alive” and Piggy Willy aggreed in sign language . So what happened next? Well lets just say that we’re still working on that…

      Summary for Lesson 5

In today’s class we began our work on Shakespeare, thinking about Shakespearean language, insults, and Romeo and Juliet. We began by learning a bit about Shakespeare overall and watching some Horrible Histories that showed us some key facts about his writing. The class then came up with their own Shakespearean insults which were fab and analysed some famous quotes from his plays, thinking about what they mean. Finally we learned about the story of Romeo and Juliet, and the students came up with some great ideas for stories based on this play that were set in more modern times. Wonderful work- well done for all your bright and sparky work on some difficult topics today everyone. Keep up the great job and see you next week 🙂

      Hi Beth,

      This is my homework.

      Romeo and Juliet

A boy called Romeo lived in a palace, he asked his father if he could get married. The father said no, but Romeo didn’t know why. One day, Romeo’s father told Romeo to have a walk outside, Romeo thought that this is a good chance to find a kind and beautiful lady to marry. After a few hours, he found the perfect lady. The lady was called Juliet and she wore a pretty pink dress and has clean white tights, matched with a pair of pink high heels that has a tiny red rose at each side. She wore very expensive shiny pink and gold makeup and her hair looked like heaven, it was shaped like roses and colour is pink with a tint of red, which is the perfect colour for roses. Every time I look at her, I would walk to her and not even realise, I always wanted to kiss her and for some reason I see her every day. Romeo fell in love with Juliet, and he held Juliet’s hand and asked if he could marry her. They both wanted to marry each other but their parents don’t think it’s good for them to be together. next afternoon, they went to the ballroom and a person called Lawrence secretly married Romeo and Juliet. But straight after they were married there was a war between the two families and Juliet didn’t want to be attacked so she acted like she was dead, when Romeo saw Juliet he was extremely upset, he saw a clear poisonous bottle and drank it, after he drank it, he fell to the floor and slept as deep as death. Juliet woke up and saw Romeo lying on the rock floor, she immediately cried and kissed him 1000 times. She went and called Lawrence what happened and about how she wants to die. Lawrence found a poisonous blue liquid and got Juliet to deep sleep( as deep as death). After a few years Juliet woke up again and saw a sward on the hip of Romeo’s T-shirt, she grabbed it and used all her might to push it in her heart to never ever come alive again.

      Have a wonderful week.

      Summary for Lesson 6

In today’s class we finished our work on Shakespeare, this week working with his comedies. We began by learning some Shakespearean vocab before the class used this to turn nursery rhymes into their own Shakespearean versions. We then learned about Midsummer Night’s Dream and looked at key features of a Shakespearean comedy, such as a happy ending and the use of slapstick. The class created some amazing comedic characters and finally, we completed some work on plot, plotting out our own comedies inspired by Shakespeare. Lovely work today class, you were all coming up with some hilarious ideas and were very motivated throughout. Keep up the wonderful work, well done 🙂

      Summary for Lesson 7

In today’s class we learned about C S Lewis, thinking about how he uses setting and magic in his stories. We discussed his most famous story (Narnia) before using this as inspiration for our own settings rooted in childhood. The class then learned about anthropomorphism which they were fantastic on, and used some music to inspire images that they could write stories from. They did some wonderful character creation, read some final key tips about Lewis’ writing style and shared amazing ideas about ways in which they were inspired. Brilliant thoughts today everyone, well done and see you soon 🙂

      Summary for Lesson 8

In today’s lesson we completed our work on C S Lewis, thinking today about how he uses literary techniques in his writing. We began by learning about his life before moving on to thinking about how he captured the reader’s interest at the beginning of his books. We completed some metaphor work, with the class writing some amazing Narnia-based metaphors, before finally learning about his use of symbolism. The class then came up with their own characters that were symbolic of something, similar to how Aslan represents Jesus or the idea of sacrifice in Narnia. Incredible work class, well done for all your amazing ideas and pieces of creative interpretation today. See you next week 🙂

      Summary for Lesson 9

In today’s class we completed a writing workshop, revising and going over loads of key ideas for using authors as inspiration. We started by talking about story openings, exploring this as a class and trying some ideas out of our own. Then we spoke about our favourite authors and revised the key ideas the class learned from each of the four writers we have studied together. Finally we looked at ways to find inspiration in writing and the class wrote some amazing story openings inspired by the authors we have focused on. Wonderful, creative and engaging work today class, keep up the amazing job & see you next week for our mini mock 🙂

      Hi Beth,

      This is my homework,

Emily Morton (inspired by J.K Rowling)

Emily was born in 2003 and her parent died when she was 1 years old because a person called Carson murdered them by stabbing a sword in their hearts ♥️.

Emily was treated by her terrible aunt and uncle Smarg. She didn’t get much food because she had to make food for her aunt and uncle, she had to do all the chores and had to take care of the baby. The baby keeps on farting and getting hungry, Emily barely has her own time of doing her own stuff and learning. She’s busy doing what adults should do, auntie Smarg and uncle Smarg are doing what babies should do, they watch iPad, eat and sleep. One evening, somebody called Pranav bashed our door and walked in. He asked “I want ti privately chate with Emely.” Emily said yes but auntie and uncle says no. The baby was crying like he also understands. By the way, it’s Emily’s birthday is today and Pranav gave Emily a Birthday cake that he made himself from scratch.

Pranav even told Emily that she’s born to learn magic and should go to a school called Merlin’s school of witchcrafts and wizardry…

      Hi Beth,

This is my homework from week7.

      The theme park

I was in my house with two sisters, one older and one younger. We were playing with slime in the toilet happily when suddenly there was a magic door with a voice echoing “Come in, come in, come in.” So I went in with my two sisters in the blue magic door. It was hot, misty, and scary, I entered a wonderful theme park with a few animals but there were no people at all, I was both exited and worried, “ WE DON’T HAVE TO QUEUE FOR RIDES!” I shouted. But I was worried too, because it was winter and I was pretty sure we were in England, but for some weird reason, it was VERY hot. The thing that creeped me out the most is that the animals could actually talk as fluently as us ( which is very fluent ). The theme park, I can tell, was in the middle of nowhere, because when I stand at the side of the hole theme park, the only thing I can see was green grass and healthy trees that you can actually get fresh food from. One morning when I jut woke up on the  bench,  a  cat started talking to me. “ Have you heard about the three challenges to complete?” The cat asked.

      “ No.” I replied

“ You need to complete three challenges( ordered from easiest to hardest) to get out and have three wishes -that you chose- come true.” The cat told me. “ The first challenge is to get all the hidden keys around and bring it to me or any other cats.”

“ Okay.” I said, thinking that it would be hard. After ten minutes, I found all the keys and I got one wish that is my best wish. For the next challenge the rabbit told me to wash 100 carrots for her to eat, the carrots were ssoooooo big that it took me three FULL days to clean them, my two sisters loved this place so they decided to play from one o’clock to midnight every single day. For the next challenge the monkey told me that I had to complete the nearly impossible obstacle course in within two weeks. I tried and tried for the first week every day I wasn’t even half way done. I suddenly felt very strong a Tuesday morning, on Tuesday I reached half way and finished. So the animals said that I could get out of this place today at anytime I want. I chose to leave at one pm. Te wishes I chose were to get a phone, to get the worlds best house (with lifts and not stairs), to be in charge of the house-but not being busy-and watch iPad everyday.

      Hi Beth,

This is mini mock exam writing.

      The magical story

There was a person called Daniel Ester that lived in a small town with his grandparents. Sadly, he was the only young kid that was in the town so everyone was nearly the same age as his grandparents. He lived in a small house that only has one floor because his grandparents are quite poor so they can’t buy very big houses. One day, there was a fat person banging on the door screaming his name, his grandma opened the door and he came stomping loudly on the stairs to get to me. Because it was my birthday, he bring me a birthday cake that he made from scratch and he told me that I know how to use magic since I was born, and he recommended me a school called The Magic school of witchcrafts and wizardry. I went there, made a lot of friends, and had a wonderful time!

      Hi Beth,

This is my homework from week 6,

I’m very sorry for the late homework,

      The Life of the Lovers

One day, there was a girl called Haler and another girl called Harper, they are very good friends but they argue quite a lot. They were fighting for man to fall in love, and stopping each other to go anywhere else. Yesterday morning, they together planned to go to a secret house to find special lover so that they have a chance to get different lovers. It was very quiet in there and they were not sure if there was anybody in there, but when they got to the top floor, it became very noisy. We found SO MANY mens! Haler found Lucian and Harper found a man named Dorian. They both loved each other like people loving their families(not sure about siblings though). They walked through a forest together and ate delicious s’mores( not sure of the spelling) with cakes instead of biscuits, to be honest it was even better than biscuits because it was raspberry flavoured and it’s very soft too. Yesterday afternoon, They found a tent that some random person left and lived together and had a great time.

I’ll do some more writing, sorry.
