Attached are the 6 homework problems that you should try to do for the next lesson. As mentioned, you’ll be putting your answers into a google form in a few days so we can see how well you all understood the problems. Because this is our first week together I am willing to be a bit more lenient on this weeks homework – so you can consider it “optional”. This is also because the questions are rather hard and not necessarily directly about the things we covered in class.
Try not to spend more than 20 minutes attempting these problems. Whatever answers you have at the end of the 20 minutes, write them down and have the ready to put onto the google form link.
You guys were awesome in class today though! I’m excited to see you all soon!

Attached are the 10 homework problems that you should try to do for the next lesson. As mentioned, you’ll be putting your answers into a google form in a few days so we can see how well you all understood the problems. The format for these homework gradings from now are will be 9 questions weighted at 1 point, and then one final bonus question weighted at 2 points. The 10th question is very hard, but because google forms doesn’t let me assign you “bonus marks”, that question is listed as being worth 0. So when you submit, you will get a mark out of 9, and if it says you got the final problem correct – you can mentally add 2 to that score. This means it’s possible to record a score of 11/9, and if you get everything right my program will record you as such. The slides used, and google forms link to submit are also attached to this message. Unfortunately, there really isn’t an easy way to share the kahoot here, but if that is something that is really desired let me know and I can upload photos of each question. All classes are recorded, so I recommend looking back over the video recording to see the questions, options, and correct answers.

I was informed that lots of you are interested in having access to the slides used in our classes. I will be posting them along with the homework from now on, but I have not yet posted them for the first class. The slides used in our first class are attached here. See you all soon!

PS: I know some of you found our class today rather difficult, don’t worry too much if you didn’t understand part of it. We will be going over all of the same concepts again in next class, and you’re also encouraged to read over the slides and try the questions again that you had trouble on in class. You can always post to this forum and i’d be happy to give advice and explain answers.

Dear Kyle, would you please explain question 6 of the homework 5 ? What does ‘turn through an angle ” mean. Thank you!
-
at 05:42 #21043KyleSParticipant
This wording is definitely a bit weird. by “turn through”, they just mean turned that far from the starting point (facing north). So turned through 30 degrees is the same as facing 30 degrees from north towards east, or N30E if you know compass notation. Hope that helps!

Some of you requested for the lesson slides to be posted early, so attached here are the week 8 slides that will be used in our classes this week. I recommend not extensively going through it before class, but rather to just glance over it if you are worried about difficulty level. See you all soon!

Attached is the homework to be completed before week 9. There was some confusion last week about which homework to do, this homework is due on either November 27th or 29th depending on which class you’re in. The link to submit is below, and the slides used in week 8 are already posted above this. See you all soon!

Attached is the week 9 homework to be completed for our week 10 class. As usual, the link to submit is given below. We wont have any homework after next week, so this is the last one for the first part of this course! Congrats on making it this far!
See you all soon for what is very likely our last class of the year, as I’m planning to take a break over the holidays and spend some time with my family. I hope you all choose to continue with the next part in the new year, it’s been a pleasure working with you all 🙂

Attached is the homework to be completed before out week 10 class. Please note that there and 8 questions, and this homework was designed to be easier than previous weeks so it shouldn’t take too long. The reason for this is we will have a “test” in our final class that will be largely based on the types of questions seen in previous homework – so if you’re not confident in them I highly recommend you review some of the content before our final class together of this section. The slides used in our week 9 class are also attached, but a large portion of the class was done on Kahoot and those questions are not attached.
